Nextlight and Main street are awesome, you can get by with a bike and no car, there's 5-10 really bad days per year, (snow gear, balaclava, goggles your driver friends will know this information) no true nightlife, expensive, but too small for a tent city. There's a unique education center with a primary, secondary, high school & services/dining in the middle, however there are other options for kids. The train can be annoying & stop on the road for several minutes, luckily there's a bypass bridge, if you notice the lights in time. I like it here. Good work on the video. *(Forgot Sandstone Ranch park, the trail system behind the main park will take your breath away)

Thanks so much for your comment! Great suggestion on the trails behind Sandstone as well.... such beautiful scenery and it's one of my favorites!

LongTucky. It was a great place to live until the flood of 2013 happened and everybody from lyons moved down into Longmont and messed up the housing market.

This video randomly popped in my feed. I will say that I like Longmont but do not think it’s worth what homes are going for by a long shot. That goes for anything on the front range. Alot of drugs and homeless. Sure it’s beautiful but there isn’t anything else unfortunately. If starter homes dropped to $299k then definitely worth it. Rent is also pretty out of control. My opinion… lived here for 7 years now.

I can't say that I disagree with you. I wish starter home prices were much lower than they are - for many people wanting to live along the front range or close to Boulder, Longmont is more affordable than other areas though. Thank you for your comment!

Lived there for a short time , and that short time was too long , drugs gangs and all the other problems most city’s have , however it affected my family a bit to much ,and no you can’t outrun these problems , but I did get some buffer space for the family
@movewithmyers5 ай бұрын
So sorry to hear you didn't like your experience living here and that it affected your family negatively...... however, glad to hear you now have some buffer space! Are you still in CO or did you relocate out of state?
@rblueroan22055 ай бұрын
@@movewithmyers No. both our families have been several generations here , hers came in the 1800’s mine was around since the Texans held the area , her Dad built many homes and businesses in the Boulder Longmont area mine were ranchers .

If you moved to CO in the early 2000’s you could have bought a home for practically nothing in Longmont.
@movewithmyers2 ай бұрын
That is true - and for those that did purchase at that time, they have gained quite a lot of equity!

@ Indeed, the same goes for Louisville. Back then, my share of the rent was around $200, which included utilities, cable/phone, and trash, split with a few roommates. That same house is now valued at over $1.5 million.

You forgot the biggest conn, Longmonts homeless problem is out of control.

That is unfortunately very true.

Longmont is extremely left . City council are mostly progressive women. Homes and utilities are very expensive. Homeless people there are aggressive and quiet a few. It is definitely not as family friendly as it use to be. The shopping places are just about non existent as the mall was tore down for Sam's club and low end stores/restaurants that have gone out of business.

It’s in Boulder County which is a problem. More taxes.
@movewithmyers2 ай бұрын
For those that want to live in Boulder County, Longmont is more affordable than other cities/towns located within the county. Alternatively, the eastern part of Longmont is in Weld County.... so there are a few options.
@joefizationАй бұрын
Another con about living in Longmont is the high crime and homeless tweakers everywhere. When I grew up in Longmont 30+ years ago bike theft was extremely common, now people's cars and garages are commonly targeted. We locals don't like how much the town is growing. If you move here be respectful of the locals and don't try to make Longmont into Boulder or some other kind of hipster yuppie city. If you want to live in Boulder then go live in Boulder. Leave Longmont to the Longmonsters
@movewithmyersАй бұрын
Yes, any city that has rapid growth will experience issues. I agree with you to not try and change the a town into something else or the likes of another town... that goes for anywhere someone moves. Of course, some level of change is good and necessary though. I would've loved to have lived here 30+ years ago!! Thanks for your comment!

20 year Colorado resident here. Do you like super inflated cost of living, smug liberals, ultra restrictive building codes, and congestion? By all means move here. I'm looking to relocate to Louisiana, friendly people a lot fewer assholes, outdoor activities, affordable.
