Con; I live in Oxnard and my dream is to live near a beach in a beach house with my family, but living in Oxnard and probably anywhere else is just TOO expensive to let alone afford a decent apartment. Living in a beach house will never happen.

I've enjoyed living in part on my boat here in Oxnard. There are many good things I could say about it, but I am tired of seeing so many obese women, in virtually every shopping venue, Oxnard; has to be the Obese women capital of California. If you're going into business selling donuts or pizza, you'll make a killing.

I would avoid and at All cost is the Colonia on the other side of the tracks, but near the Beaches,yess!!

Can you go into why to avoid Colonia? Please go into detail and do not be politically correct about it, tell the real truth, moving to the area and interested to know. Trying to find a place within 35 mins of Point Mugu NAS.

@@Cruor34 some people love Colonia and others hate it. Each neighborhood has its own feel but I can tell you that Colonia has a very different feel than Wagon Wheel, where you are currently looking. Take a look at the crime map, www.communitycrimemap.com/, this way you can look at every neighborhood in Oxnard and Ventura and get a feel. The map only shows crime that has happened in the past month but it gives you an idea.

Colonia isn’t as bad as it used too. People have this idea that if you go in you’ll see a bunch of cholos and people selling drugs in every corner. Colonia isn’t what it used to be and I wish people would stop making it seem like it’s a horrible place.
