Lived there from 88 to 95.Was in my early 30's then,so it took me some time to get use to working out in the brutal sun,especially in the summer.Im sure it's changed alot in 30 plus years,i just wished id been smarter and invested in real estate but thats history now.All your points are very good.

What is the city like in relation to floods or hurricanes? Is the cost of insurance in Port Charlotte higher because of this?
@blaster-zy7xx

Those pictures over the water are NOT from port Charlotte. Port Charlotte has no blue water and no real beaches. The good: it is southwest Florida, on the water and reasonably priced. Downside is that the main drag of 41is just endless crappy old strip stores. And much of the area is just run down looking.

I am aware. There are beautiful beaches in Charlotte County. I like to think it's more about the content and not the pictures. Port Charlotte is up and coming and has a lot of great construction happening around.

@@Holbrookhomesrealty Right, I know that YOU are aware, but you are selling real estate. My comment was directed at those who are not aware and might get the wrong impression that the pictures of the blue water and beaches are Port Charlotte, and they are not. I have seen several videos of real estate people selling Port Charlotte yet showing picturesque images of other places, including yours. It would be more forthright if these real estate videos said something to the effect of "Port Charlotte is only 15 -20 minutes away from beaches of Englewood and Boca Grand...."

I believe I mention the beaches around. Check out my other videos. Thanks for the comment.

My daughter lives in Port Charlotte,how are they recovering from the hurricane? She loves it there
@Holbrookhomesrealty
@Holbrookhomesrealty 2 жыл бұрын
The recovery is coming along. There still some areas that need cleanup. I’m hearing that many of the homeowners are struggling with their insurance and getting repairs done. Many of the stores are up and running as well. I’m glad your daughter loves it there.

Yes. There are some parts that are very concentrated with shells. We still love the beach and the vibe of the Resturants and bars around.

We looked at Port Charlotte and ended up choosing Ft Myers because it was more diverse. Port Charlotte is 85% white and older. We are African American couple.

@@blaster-zy7xx Yes, Fort Myers is the way to go and the place to be if your African American. Downtown Fort Myers is vibing. We just like living amongst a greater population of African Americans.

@@scarystuffscarystuffscarys3780 Poe's Law. I don't think you got what I was saying. I came from an area of very diversified upper middle class. That was just what I was used to. It wasn't until after moving to Punta Gorda that I realized how monochromatic is was. And not just race, but age and political affiliation. I am white and I still found it a bit disconcerting. It felt like it was the "Stepford Wives" town, but everyone is at least a half a century old.

Hello, we are a Chilean family, with 2 small children, we have a place on Eugene Ave. how much does it cost to build a house and if there is a job market, we are psychologists, but we must get to work in any job, since professional titles are not recognized there
@Holbrookhomesrealty
@Holbrookhomesrealty Жыл бұрын
Hi! It depends on what kind of build you want. You can do custom or spec. Spec is typically in a community and they have model homes that you can pick from. There is a lot of new construction in PC. If you choose custom typically you already have the land and you would have to find a CG or builder to custom build your home. The job market on Port Charlotte is mostly going to be in the service industry. So it really depends on what you’re looking for. You can always call me or email me at Yasmine@holbrookhomesrealty.com to have more in-depth conversation 😊

The large iguanas are rare, but the small lizards that are only a few inches long are EVERYWHERE! They don’t hurt anything and eat mosquitoes.

Nice video footage of scenery and places of interest. However, too much camera focus on woman’s upper torso which was completely not necessary, and did not contribute to the purpose of this video.

I lived there for 6 months! My advice is don't ask your realtor to hire the home inspector or the pest control for your home inspection, the only reason why I did was because I believed that he was an ethical guy and he had compassion for us as my husband was going through chemotherapy at the time and couldn't walk so, we couldn't be there...we lived out of town at the time. Next, be aware that RATS are all over and live in the canals there, and there is a huge problem with iguanas. Both RATS and IGUANAS want to get into your home when the weather gets cooler. 6 months in Port Charlotte and accurately one block from Englewood made us FLEE FLORIDA!!! Yasmine, these rodents do bother people, they want to live in your home.....I guess it's all about what you're into, either health, or making a sale???????
@Holbrookhomesrealty
@Holbrookhomesrealty 2 жыл бұрын
First I want to say how sorry I am about your experience with your agent. Inspectors are licensed through the state and do not work for the agents. But again I’m sorry about your bad experience. Yes, we have iguanas and rats. Unfortunately, when you live on the water you will come across rodents and lizards, this is not uncommon. There are certainly precautions you can take to protect the interior of your home. Iguanas are not indigenous to FL and are invasive but we must coexist. I like to educate my buyers about the areas so that they can make their decision.

Pro..low demand for permits for home owners. Pro people basically leave you alone. Pro it’s not a liberal town. Pro I love it. Con. Home taxes are currently on the higher side due to current mayor. Con. Traffic can be difficult. Con a few road ragers. Con. Many many many iguanas around all the time.
