Botetourt County is the best or Bedford county.

I like the beggars 😆 a lot of them make hilarious signs, so sometimes I toss a tip their way for the laugh.

Very cruel and insensitive you better hope and pray that you’re not on the corner with a cup holding a sign begging. Remember Karma.

@@michaeljusy it's not in the least. One guy had a sign that said "I bet you 5 dollars you won't give me one!" That's clever and hilarious. So I gave him 5! Get off your offended high horse and move along.

Democrats moving into the area is the worst thing.

What is your favorite thing to do in the Roanoke Valley?

@@DiscoverRoanokeVA Watch the seasons change on the Blue Ridge Parkway. My family has been in Botetourt County since 1784. My people helped build the Parkway and the Mill Mountain Star. I wish for that Roanoke Valley again.

@@TonyStClair-fp6mp That is such an awesome history and I would love to go back to those days. The mountains are what keeps me in Roanoke. My wife has been trying to get us to move to FL for a while now and I have no interest to live there. I hope they get the Parkway open again soon, I miss driving it.

@@DiscoverRoanokeVA Florida is too humid for me. I went once. I take for granted the Fall trees here. As a boy, I would walk the Parkway an wonder why so many out of state people would come here in the Fall.

@@TonyStClair-fp6mp now as an adult you know why they are here. We go to FL quite often to visit Disney. I really don't like the heat down there or the humidity.

Still considering the Roanoke area because of the terrain, compared to other parts of the east coast. It's further inland than much of the Appalachian, without being on top of the Mountain like in Ashville, so it's easy to get around when traveling, or even to get away in extreme events. Up north has way too long of winter and or clouds and rain, and its still muggy all summer long, like in NY. Can't afford the taxes in New England. The crime is insane in many of the large cities, so why even bother. And disease is so prevelant in Fla, it is literally the starting point for 9 out of 10 infectious diseases. My only problem with Va are with some of the politics. But It's so hard to find your happy place, that the pros on the list are exactly what you should be looking for. The great outdoors, with a quaint downtown, and lots of arts and festivals! Everything else is secondary.. See you soon :)

Super great comment. I have a lot of clients moving from Ashville, NC to the Roanoke area and they love it here. I also love the mountains. I lived in Norfolk for about 6 months and hated every minute of it so had to move back to Roanoke.
