We just moved from Washington after being there for 14.5 years for myself and over 20 for my husband and now we’re in El Paso for a super short time due to military. I love Coeur D’Alene and Twin Falls too. I need more sunshine than the Westside of Washington had but also want to go somewhere that has all the fall and spring colors.

Moved from California to right outside about 8 miles from TF. Super friendly, great peoppe. Home prices have shot straight to the moon, not much rain, not much snow---but a big one every 10 years or so, no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no earthquakes, no wildfires. Not too cold and not too hot. Low crime, very gun friendly. You will see people packing heat at Walmart or Fred Meyers or in the mall. You can park your car, go shop, and come back to find your car still there not broken into or be accosted by homeless bums. Limited ethnic restaurants. 1 indian, 7 or 8 good Mexican, 3 or 4 decent steak places, no Italian, 2 Thai, and 5 Chinese---all 5 are garbage. Shopping is very basic. Walmart and Cosco. JC Pennsys and Kohls. Don't expect Nordstrom's or anytbinf more than Wrangler jeans and t shirts at Targets. But im retired so I dont need Brooks Brothers or Rolex boutiques.

We just moved to El Paso 3 months ago from Washington state and it’s like night and day between the two. The wind here is crazy and knocks everything down as well. I’m just thankful there’s not rain everyday but sunshine but sure miss the green. We drove through Twin Falls on our way down and I loved it there. It felt super safe and quiet.

Hello, looking at cities in idaho, my wife is afraid of the bridge. Is it absolutely needed or can it be avoided ? Is it used often?
@livinginidaho Жыл бұрын
It could be avoided as you could leave town other ways. The city hasn’t spread north of the bridge so once your over the only reason you go over it is to get out of town. Where are you watching from?
@Puazy_7051 Жыл бұрын
It is absolutely needed; to be *realistic (so much so that talk of a second bridge has come and gone a few times.) Jerome is near by across the canyon to the north and it isn't unreasonable to need to go there.

Do local municipalities have an income tax in Idaho? Thx
@livinginidaho Жыл бұрын
No, local municipalities in Idaho do not impose a local income tax. In the state of Idaho, only the state government levies an income tax on individuals and businesses. Local governments in Idaho rely on other sources of revenue, such as property taxes, sales taxes, and fees, to fund their operations.

Just love the conservative side of Twin Falls. I was born in Seattle in the early 50's and for many years conservative and liberals lived side by side with no problems whatsoever, after 2010 I experienced the liberals going absolutely crazy about their beliefs and conbatting conservatives every inch of the way. The problem in Seattle is terminal and for conservativce there is only one option and that is to just leave which is what I'm doing. I really appreciate your video and honestly I don't see any negatives that would stop me from wanting to live there. I've watched your other videos and enjoyed them also. Thanks again for getting me excited about helping me finally find a place I can call home and find some peace in my life.

First thanks so much for all the great helpful videos!! I won't lie I've been watching a lot of videos regarding various cities in Idaho that we are considering, Twin Falls being at the top. These videos all mention the stink in Twin Falls... smells from dairy farm cows ( yes we know it's Idaho and y'all have cows) , the sewer system, sugar beet plant. Any validity to that? They also mentioned the wind as does your video but they all say it's constant and blow over your barbecue type of wind. They say the Snake River is heavily polluted. The small airport is a huge consideration as I travel a lot to see my senior parents who live in Las Vegas. Anyway we think Twin Falls is beautiful, it's the right size that we're looking for, people seem friendly, it leans conservative but I think the cons outweigh the pros for us sadly. 😢
@livinginidaho11 ай бұрын
As far as the smells, the only place in Twin Falls where I would say that's an issue is on the south side of town in a pretty small area. The sugar beet factory does put off a smell, and in that area I'd say it's more profound in the morning. The dump is also nearby the sugar beet and factory. The Magic valley is a major agricultural area so there are definitely parts of the area that smell. Luckily, I don't think Twin Falls is as much as issue as say Jerome, Wendell, or Gooding is it's much less rural. You really don't smell anything unless possibly deep out into the county. As far as the river pollution, I really can't speak much to that. There was the quagga mussel infestation issue last summer, as far as I'm aware that was handled. A possible next step would be to set up a call with me. I have two called this week with a client trying to decide between Idaho falls and Twin Falls. Text or call do you want to set something up. I'm moving to Idaho, not quite sure where but it will be northern Idaho in three years or so. I've lived in Seattle my entire life, over 70 years and I've grown to comletely dislike most everything about Seattle. Crime is out of control, living costs are out of control, ignorant liberals infest the place so it's near impossible to have an intelligent conversation with anyone. The liberal government is spend crazy and there's no end to their insipid waste of our taxes. The homeless situation is OUT OF CONTROL and I"ve been robbed 7 out of the past 8 years, I'm done.

You don't talk about the water problem in Idaho with this influx of people. We are having problems replenishing the water tables now where it wasn't that bad before! We can't afford more people to put more pressure on our resources, and people like you exacerbate the problems, while you just profit from plopping more people here.

I’ll talk about it. The water problem doesn’t exist. It’s fabricated like everything else you’ve been taught. The weather is changing due to pole shift and weather modification geo- engineering. You should be aware of these things, it’s been taking place for decades and it’s mainstream science. Do a little research and you’ll understand, it’s not rocket science.
