Sometimes when I'm drawing my stuff there, for a weird reason, I totally don't see the arrows until the very last seconds x,D idk why, it is like my brain is focused on finishing the thing and have something for the next artist. I gotta be faster! I gotta train! Put me some 80's tunes for my training montage, please x,D

It would be the return of 2007-2009 on KZbin with all those stick figure animations running around given they are prone to drawing shooting, bleeding, explosions, and other action scenes like many stick figure animations of the past.

This series had taught me how important silhouettes in animation truelly are. Everytime a character overlaps with itself or an object gets cover by being off screen or in smear, it becomes impossible for the animators to understand what is going on and the animation comepletly change from what it initially was becoming really tripy.

Watching these is heavily inspiring me to animate, as it shows that animation isn't some huge, complex, impossible thing. You can just flip some doodles around & in 30 minutes you can have a little animation.

27:19 "ahh yes, hard lava" lava is hard. It's super dense and thick that if you fell into a volcano, you'll hit the surface like concrete and sit on top for a little bit THEN start to sink in.

i remember the stick animations they were my jam as a kid. There was the Stickfight forums that i was apart of and i remember dreaming about getting into animation and in specific the animation fights they did, where two people would animate their characters fighting and then we vote on the winner. Never did, though, and I never started animating. Im a graphic designer now lol.

It's really interesting watching artists play this together - not only are they just great at drawing and pretty creative, it's cool to see the notes/ instructions they leave for each other and see them communicate thru red movement arrows, motion blur frames, impact frames, etc (even tho they still misinterpret or forget them sometimes lol).

Gartic Phone Idea: Make a set of cards. Put them in a character pile, then an adjective pile. Draw a card from each pile and animate (in animation or movie) what is going on!

I love these, I probably will never get bored of them. One thing I do notice is that a few of the players tend to just trace the same frame before, not even as like w holding frame or anything, almost like they just don't know where to go, but don't want to draw nothing. I've seen it a few times, like an impact frame just gets copied or a run cycle gets the same frame redrawn for no reason. I don't have expectations, just observations lol

Soon as they got into talking about people who grew up animating stick figures, I knew an Alan Becker reference would pop in (He made Animation vs. League of Legends, which is what they talk about for a brief period of time.) Other works would also be Animation vs. Minecraft and Animator vs. Animation (which is just a full on anime now.) All with stick figures as the main characters!
