I wouldn't be surprised if Ubi was using vids like this to take down the accounts themselves. The player behavior team used to use the bug testers as in game shadow mods- where they could send in reports with screenshots/videos and have the accounts perma'd on the spot for anything from cheating to outright toxicity. Would not be surprised if the program was still a thing with the little amount of FQA (Functionality Quality Assurance/Bug Testers) they still have.

I ran into a really bad cheater yesterday and we managed to throw the game and make him lose. He went all out too, speed hacks, 50 cal rounds from any weapon, aimbot and even while downed he crawled fast and killed people. Apparently he makes money by posting videos of him cheating and accounts only cost him $2 so clearly this problem won't be solved unless ubi starts IP banning people.

Unfortunately IP bans are easy to evade. As a minecraft server op, I can tell you that it’s incredibly difficult to keep someone banned if they don’t wanna be. Account, IP, and hardware bans can be circumvented if the person wants to bad enough. We had one player we had to have banned hundreds of accounts and IP addresses and we could not keep him banned.

So far, all the anti-cheat makers are nowhere close to striking down this hydra. The most headway they've gotten is the game's developer pursuing legal action against the cheat sellers themselves, but by showing their hand in this way, it's only a matter of time before the cheat sellers adapt to this and figure out ways to retain their anonymity. And I don't even want to bring up the storm that's brewing known as the machine learning "inhuman aim assist" cheats that are undetectable via conventional means. Once that technology starts picking up and becoming rampant, it's going to be a hot mess.

@@Chaooo I think the best current way to crack down on a lot of the cheating is to make the accounts harder to steal. I get password reset emails every second day with the amount of accounts I have, and I know none of them are me. I have to change all my passwords weekly to make sure these people aren’t stealing my account, and when there are so many inactive players that don’t care about their accounts anymore it just opens up the possibility for people to take it with ease. My PC broke so I was off of the platform for 2 years and stuck to PS4, in that time my account where I had hit diamond and got a few elites had been stolen and banned and I had no option to get it back. The worst part about it all is the accounts with cheats preinstalled are cheaper than making new accounts that are legitimate.

That's dirt cheap when you can: A) (for cheat sellers) Sell your cheats and make a killing, essentially making the bought accounts a business expense, or B) (for cheat sellers and non-cheat sellers) Cheat on an account to boost its stats and ranking, then sell the account for more than you put in buying the account and paying for the cheats (assuming you didn't develop your own cheats). It reminds me of Venezuelan gold farmers on Oldschool Runescape. Doesn't matter how much you pay someone in Venezuela per hour (or whatever metric they use) and buy a bond for the account for them to farm on when you are making more selling off the gold they're farming.

Walls is often called ESP because ESP stands for Extra Sensory Perception, which as said is a shorthand for psychic powers, but in the terms of cheats, it's called ESP because you get extra information about the enemies, like how much health they have, what weapon they have currently equipped, and how far they are from you. @@clonkex Its absolutely accurate. Game came out with no anti-cheat, zero server validation of any kind. This has resulted in a wide array of cheats like maverick bullets, attackers picking up defender gadgets, etc. Battleeye wasn’t added until 2018, three years after the game came out. Battleeye is a P.O.S. at that because it only checks as the game is loaded so people just wait to enable their hacks until after. I mean..the game did require accounts to have passwords so I mean thats technically security so they had that in mind. 🤷‍♂️

That doesn't mean they didn't build it with security in mind, it's just that there's only so much security you can achieve without a server. How do you know Battleeye only checks stuff at startup? I find that very hard to believe. More likely is that the cheats get around the detection whether they use them at startup or not. Cheat detection is very difficult. Whatever the client reports can be spoofed, but the cheat detection has to run on the client. It's impossible to make perfect anti-cheat (and exceptionally difficult to make good anti-cheat).

Had they had security and validation in mind it would have had it from the start. This excuse making is why Games, IoT and a lot of other tech/software still constantly have major security issues and problems. I’m well aware of how difficult security can be and that even with the best practices it can still be breached BUT by maintaining those best practices you make it extremely difficult. Its also why we have games being launch in late beta at best and alpha at worst and completely broken. Stop it. While I agree that Valorant has a much more advanced anti-cheat system, it also relies on running at the kernel level (!!) to detect cheats. That's a hell of a step to take and requires an immense amount of trust from the players. R6 was also originally built as a peer-2-peer game, so there was no server and thus it was basically impossible to prevent cheats. There's only so much they can do without rebuilding the game from the ground up because the architecture will be completely terrible for preventing cheats.

What enjoyment do hackers derive from cheating their way through every game? How is basically letting the game win for you fun in any capacity? I'm so perplexed. The lack of hackers is the one thing that makes me happy to be a console player.

@@Howard0Chris depends what you mean by cheat. You can't use arbitrary code execution on either console so no walls or aimbots. You can use xims and macros in a cronus or strike pack but that's it really.

It just makes me wish they’d just go to kernel level anti cheat and get it over with. The current anti cheat isn’t working, and isn’t getting closer to functioning

The fact that their anti-cheat doesn’t look for invalid movements is insane. The Minecraft servers that I op has an anti-cheat that can detect if you move in a way that you shouldn’t be able to. If siege had this than spin botting, zero recoil, etc. wouldn’t it be possible because the system would detected how you’re spinning too fast or you’re shooting with two little recoil than is actually possible. The same detection could be used on Consol to catch people using mouse and keyboard considering they’re able to move way faster while still maintaining accuracy then you can with a controller. At the very least you would expose them when they do that stupid ass mouse shake they do at the end of the round.

@@supawiz6991 minecraft anti-cheat is actually a perfect example of why they don’t want to implement it. mc anti-cheat frequently kicks/bans people for lag or non-hacked movement, either vanilla or slightly glitchy

@@th0rn3 That only happens because ops don’t tune it properly. We’ve had it for years and with the way we tuned it it was very rare to get a false ban.

@@supawiz6991 If it were easy they would have done it already. The problem is, there's no such thing as an invalid mouse movement. My brother has a button on his mouse that sets the DPI to a high value and sometimes he holds the button and then he spins the mouse around quickly, just to mess around. That would create extremely high mouse input numbers but it's still valid. Where do you draw the line? What if someone's computer glitches for a moment and the next frame reports very high numbers for the mouse input? It's neither simple nor easy.

Actually the punching through reinforcements has been around for longer than you think. It mustve been 1-2 ago now but I played against this guy who actually develops lots of the cheats and he could even make punch holes in concrete walls

Why they haven’t just started hardware banning cheaters is just beyond me. At some point ubi is going to have to make the hard choice between stopping people from just going out and buying new accounts or losing their legitimate player base.

Either a hacker or an actual streamer using the new privacy mode. When I'm in a match, it shows the same thing.

This speculation, i'm at 7:56 but what I can imagine, as you said the Streamer Mode is a whitelisted feature, there maybe be something in a code that can be exploited somehow. And realted to Tracker, he might get player's by their name and if that's the case it check the player's id given to that name and shows you that profile instead of Tracking the Player IDs (speculation) as I said, but the tracker one is very cmon for both side, but a lot do keep the ID and show their name or show their at the match. But if it's actually their ID and Tracker still reports the original account, i would assume they are 'spoofing' somehow their own player ID
