Newark penn station has several ways to get to manhattan including the PATH train, Amtrak, NJ Transit. There is also greyhound at penn station. And several buses throughout the city that drive straight to port authority in manhattan

Best neighborhood in Newark is Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Broadway. Quiet if you are not close to Route 21. Top notch neighbors. Fenced and gated community.

As far as jobs yhere are PLENTY. There are also employment centers that provide training and employment for residents who are struglling to find employment. Couple that with surrounded nf communities and close proximity to NYC finding employment shouldnt be a problem for most. There are even reentry programs for people who may have made mistakes in their past and have criminal records. No excuses

My husband and I lived in Newark in the early 80's at 375 Mt. Prospect Ave. A lovely pre war building. Well kept and we had a working fireplace. We also lived across the street in the white hi-rise, we had a balcony and they had a pool. North Newark was great and I used to walk my daughter in her carriage all around there and of course there is the park. The old bldg went condo in 1983. We moved out because of that, went to south Jersey suburbia but we both missed Newark. Happy trails.

It's pronounced "cath E dral" not "cath uh drill" (unless that's how Newark pronounces it). And Newark International Airport has international destinations as it is serviced by Aer Lingus (Ireland), Air Canada, Air China, Air France, Air India, Austrian Airlines, British Airways and lots more as I don't want to make this too long of a comment.

I know a recent cop 👮‍♀️ who retired from Newark who told me that he is great full of the opportunity given by the city. He never went back after retirement and that he would never go back to a war zone. Also said that people keep voting for the same people. He lives in the Caribbean now.

Seriously? Dude don’t tell people this is a place to live. Might as well tell them to move to Camden. Newark in its history was a place to live but it definitely isn’t now. You’re showing video of suburbia and this definitely is not Newark. Newark has high crime, gangs, drug etc. you name it drive by shootings stolen cars and car jackings come on! I agree with both u guys. I was born and raised in Newark , and the area I grew up in is not a area someone would willing move to. But areas like Iroundbound and North Newark ( closer to Belleville) is alright; Iroundbound being the best option in my opinion
