Actually prefer the bodywork of this older model than the new spec. Also I never saw the point in buying new cars that depreciate in value as soon as you’ve bought it. However, I would upgrade the rims/alloys to something more “twinkly”

@@onelife7247 There’s less reason to buy used when look past typical talking points the matrix indoctrinated us with. Used cars have no warranty, no peace of mind, high interest rates, and when you factor in new car discounts and incentives, you’re Hardly saving on depreciation. Buy a new Q7 at 10% off MSRP + Incentives or buy a CPO one with 30k miles on it, both will depreciate the same amount of money in an additional 3 years. Nobody talks about this. Used has and always will be a waste.

I have the 2020. It’s pretty much the exact same car. Here’s what I think. Pros: - 55 TFSI is very quick, passing traffic from semi-fast speeds is very easy, but there is lag like you said off the jump - amazing taillights and moving signal from the rear - interior & the tech is great - it’s a pretty good looking SUV at certain angles Cons: - The headlights: barely anyone got the matrix LED headlights for the years 2020-2022, and even some of the 2023’s DO NOT have the matrix LEDs. The chip shortage caused this, and instead of making nice headlights, they gave us the shitty non-distinct-LED headlights with HALOGEN turn signals in the front. Unacceptable at this price point. - The GAS MILEAGE IS AWFUL. It’s like under 15MPG in the city, MAYBE 20-21 MPG on the freeway. It’s a joke. The dash gives you “450 miles of range” … it’s like 300 miles maybe. It’s absolutely awful. Maybe the 2022 is better? Idk. The 2020 55 TFSI is abysmal in the mpg department. - 3rd row is not usable - piano black interior gets scratched super easily

@AR-tt5cd We’re getting rid of it before the extended warranty ends next year. It’s been a pain in the ass of a vehicle, but I think our particular Q7 was a lemon from the start. Should’ve done more due diligence. I have no idea if other models of Q7 are better/worse in the maintenance department or with gas. When the car is working - it’s great. But there are just too many oddities that have occurred since we got it. It’s unfortunate.

@AR-tt5cd I totally understand. I agree, if you want longevity and don’t want to get rid of your desired vehicle after warranty ends, then Lexus or Acura would make sense financially. I can’t think of a German car I’d want to own after EW ends other than Porsche - but you’ll have consistent high costs every year. Prepare to spend $1-2k to keep it in top shape. For that price point though, you’ll enjoy the vehicle so much. One thing that sucks is that the Q7 is just so fun to drive, so switching to a Japanese SUV will just not be able to be comparable in terms of power output and how nice it feels to drive it. You will sacrifice that. The Q7 can hit 80mph real quick and it barely feels like you’re going 60. Passing cars is unbelievably easy and it’s just so smooth. But again, once that extended warranty approaches its end… not worth it. We recently had $4k in repair costs that only cost $300 BECAUSE of the Extended warranty. Without it, the car becomes a literal liability and I imagine the enjoyment goes out the window when you have to toss multiple grand at repairs on a 4 year old vehicle, like wtf.

Probably the best looking out of the full-size premium SUV segment. The reason why, is it because it's subtle, and yet doesn't look overly large like the others. It hides its size quite well.

I went with the Mazda cx-9 over this and don’t regret it at all. I test drove this and it was too much money for what you get unless it’s fully loaded.

Could you help me this. I have glc 300 2021 we love it on every time we accelerate to pass someone on highway but I consider on this one with 335hp much than glc how it perform? Because I watched many reviews they all said about bad of it when you accelerate to pass like you said too. Thank you.

Great review Kevin, the real problem, and I just experienced it trying to buy a new Escalade for my wifes birthday is simple. We want 20k over sticker, but we'll cut you a break and go 10k over. I've never paid sticker, I'm not paying 20 or 10 over, it's disgusting and I'm driving cars much longer than I normally would. Thanks for letting me vent, I'm pissed.

Yea the Escalade market is ridiculous and it’s a shame because those things are truly sweet. It’s awesome that you were in the market for one but yea the experience sucks right now hate the dealer games

I mean, they are polite, but in what world do you pay 10 or 20k over sticker where that works out good? The bath you take driving off the lot was a price of admission that I understood. Throwing 10 or 20 large on top makes me sick to think about.

Exactly I mean even getting this stuff at a discount, we’re still underwater with these vehicles so I def agree it’s sick and yes the sales people are just doing the job their managers told them too. The other reason why this continues is because there are people out here actually paying the markups

True, and to each their own. However, at some point, the caboose catches up with the engine. Either your bank account gets sodomized, or if you're financed and want to trade, I can see that getting pretty ugly, just my old man opinion. I'll not share the story of the beautiful new 77 Cutlass Supreme I paid too much for, but I will say I never did it again.

First ones free I’m guessing the rest will be in the realm of $150 to $200. I don’t really care about such things since this is something you dump after 3 years. But every car company should follow in BMW’s footsteps and offer 3 years of free maintenance

@@MeynMotorGroup hahaha… I’d dump it too after 3 years. Problem is you still end up dumping your wallet on 3 years worth of lease payments with nothing to show. I’d need to pull in at least $500,000.00/year to warrant that kind of money pit.

@@beri232 not necessarily it’s best if you own a business to write this stuff and if you have equity at the end of the lease I wouldn’t turn it back in to the dealer I would trade it in and cash in the equity to make the lease cheaper. Owning a paid off clapped out car comes with its own expenses. These are luxury cars and obviously come with higher lease payments but the point is leasing makes this stuff possible and because of that the US is the cheapest place in the world to buy cars. You can lease Tacomas and Frontiers for $200 a month and always be in perpetual equity and not have to buy a used car ever. Just need to research this stuff more

@@MeynMotorGroup my corporation leases Lexus’s or Lexi (whatever the plural is lol) and then buys out the leases at the end of the 3 year term. We then wait a year and transfer ownership over to ourselves. That way we get the tax write-offs and still build self-equity with autos that have good resale after 5-7 years. I want zee German performance but my frivolous nature also wants to keep my $$$. Lol

That’s a great strategy! An excellent way of experiencing luxury cars, building equity, and ownership. Lexus is the best luxury car to lease and have a likelihood of equity at the end. German cars depreciate so hard that there’s a low chance of equity at the end of the lease and you will probably just break even and in that instance it would be as you said, like throwing money away but sadly that’s the only way to buy these Euro cars to have that experience. I’ve heard convertibles have good residuals at the end of the lease so that may be something to look into.
