At my school we use base wax to make the wax rims and it doesn't mold as nicely and is not as flexible as your wax. For example I can't do the step at 2:05 Do you have any advice for me? What type of wax do you use?

Air bubbles can be avoided by properly heating the wax throughout so that it becomes very shiny (almost dripping) and then folding it.
