That’s one of the biggest problems. I had people who showed me how to work the streets, and run game, and go to prison. I had no idea how you would get to college or start a career. I even got a GED and went to college later and it didn’t go well for me. There’s a lot they expected your parents to tell you. I didn’t give up but I probably would’ve been better off if I did, with all the loans and scams (check out those programs…there are fake ones and messy ones). Don’t ever study in a “weak department,” at a legit school. Check how many years the major has been available and how many graduate and are placed in the field. I studied in 3 departments that closed and there was nothing I could do. Financial aid does run out, so you can’t just start over. I also never knew you could get a BA in horticulture or creative writing, and still be a doctor or lawyer. Not trying to scare anyone, and it’s possible to learn these things online. It’s hard to know what you have to know, though. There’s a lot of unspoken rules.

I have a daughter 21 and I couldn’t imagine my child doing this , I’ve try my best to raise her not to ever feel she needs to sell her soul to get things. And so far thankfully my daughter has turn out pretty good . It is so important to maintain a close relationship with our children and protect them from the devils out here in this cruel world 🌎. I pray she finds help and get out of that life . Also weed is not as bad as meth, heroin and other terrible drugs .

I was abused at home, a cab driver abducted me and tried to sell me to his home country at 14, I was removed from home and thrown out of an abusive foster home and barred from the system, besides reform jails, because the worker didn’t believe me over the “important” foster family. When I turned 18, I was always rejected from shelters due to health issues and a disability. They’d tell me to go to a nursing home, and I didn’t qualify for one. I just needed reasonable accommodations, but shelters and programs don’t have to provide that. These aren’t programs like school and health care, where there are basic rights to service. Even those institutions fail a lot of people. I was in and out of the life, but never securely out, for years. It’s not all bad people in it, and I made the most of it, but addicted? No. Tricks, you dealt with to survive, and you went back because you still needed to survive. I’m addicted to sleeping and eating and, eventually, drugs, to be able to get through it. If I wasn’t working, I never needed the drugs, either. I’m sure that’s true for a lot of people.

I’m not sure if you know but Skid row has all these resources right in the middle of the neighborhood. It’s just a matter of them walking into the offices & getting a case worker. I watched this entire interview before I make a comment. She looks to good to be working the street; but she is also hard. She’s learned how to protect herself; for the lack of a better phrase she’s hardened herself. She is casually indifferent, she is jaded, she seems to be smart enough, but needs an education. She is what she needs to be to be on the street, but she doesn’t need to be on the street. She is what she needs to be to be in this industry, I question whether or not she needs to be in this industry. I question whether or not her boyfriend is her boyfriend or is he her boyfriend Pimp. I she’s gonna get out of it as fast as she thinks she is and even though time is a constant it has a strange where are you sneaking up on you even when you’re looking directly at it. I don’t advocate anybody do this, but I don’t hold it against you either. However, if you were going to do this young lady you have to level up. You have to be smarter. You need to get out of the street. You need to appear and present yourself softer than what you actually are. You can catch you silly sucker slipping all the time, that street life ain’t where it’s at. Just because you circle the drain slower and you look youthful longer because you don’t partake in certain activities doesn’t mean it doesn’t take a toll. There’s always a price to pay for your activities that price is always high. If you were going to pay that high price, and you will, make sure you own your own residence. You want to own your own residence because you want to drive down the coast of living. Make sure you own your car, no payments, no flash. Something dead being reliable and practical. The same goes for your residence. Don’t be gullible with your money find some investments so that your money works for you and you don’t have to work for your money as much. A passive income is a powerful thing. If you have somebody in your ear and they’re not telling you these type of things and then you’re not showing you these types of things then they don’t need to be in your ear and they don’t need to be around you. Do you need to dismiss them. They need to work for you you don’t need to work for them. They should be no flash no jewelry, no high dollar cars, no expensive clothes that are a part of uniform to help you make money. Everything you do now should be an investment into your business and way to get out of your business. Game time is over honey.

@@MiyokoNijiMatsuhana It’s definitely a myth. I did it, and I was not addicted to it! The only truth behind it is if you haven’t had much money or security in your life, and you find a way to get it, you’re likely to repeat it, even if it’s dangerous. By security, I mean roof over your head and bills paid, not safety. The same goes for dealing drugs, boosting, and other illegal or under the table jobs. The same could be said about jobs that are easy to get or well-compensated because they’re dangerous…cleaning the outsides of tall buildings, mining, firefighting. You can’t compare that to streetwalking because they do have labor laws, insurance, and social security. People who define it as a psychological thing are usually researchers and people who come from money, and they influence a lot of people. They don’t see the hazardous and crazy things people do for money every day, like truckers doing speed and welders who go blind. Either that or the fact that it’s women and sex involved prevents them from making the connection. But it’s not sex, for the women, as much as they like to hype that. If I was still working and could go on SWU for advertising, I’d say I love it, too. That’s a lick! I love when women are able to be real, but I get it when they do the ad thing. I just wish everybody got it.

As a Stockton native I can attest to it being rough here, however, I can also tell you that it is/can be what you make of it. Although the stats are high, much of the violent crimes that happen are drug &/or gang related, followed by victims that are just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Most, if not all, are born into that sort of lifestyle, &/or were affiliated from an early age. Those that were not, arent typically interested in it. There are exceptions. You meet enough people, & you start to realize so clearly that no 2 people are raised the same, while some are left to raise themselves. A lot of people dont have the right connections, no network. Others dont have the resources, let alone an opportunity. Stockton is not only a melting pot, it offers example after example of what Im talking about. If youre born into drugs/gangs/crime, it is not impossible to break away, leave & not look back. Its what a lot of people here do after graduation. Star, if you happen to get this message I want you to know that I believe in You. Use that tenacity & heart of yours to be an advocate for animals. Imagine the magnitude of fulfillment you would feel, youre heart would be bursting at the seams. At the moment, because of Covid, so many *more animals have become orphans. Pets that had people, a family. They so need someone just like You. Should you decide to come out to Stockton, there *is a college you can go to for the Vet Tech program.
