Deino should make a nest like modern crocodilians. Dig a large hole, lay the eggs, cover them with dirt, and dig them up when it's time for them to hatch.

Umm no thanks. That would most likely require map modification and unless those nest sites for deino were already in, making deino nesting rather limited and making it easier for predators to find your eggs, I don't see how that'd work without tons of bugs and glitches, as well as people falling through the map. As cool as it may be, it feels like it'd be more hassle than it's worth. Edit: Someone was kind enough to let me know it could actually be possible and be a lot simpler than I originally thought. 😁

Not a bad idea but there are two kinds of the modern crocodilian nest, Hole nest where they dig a hole and bury the eggs to keep them safe/warm/humid but there are also mound nesters where the maker stays nearby to protect them, like the one they use now. But I definitely second the idea of different nest types 👍 plus they've done a really good job with the nest variety's especially hypsi

@@DeleteThis16946 Actually not. It would require no map edits and shouldn't be too intensive. If you recall Dryo's burrow you can do it akin to that. Make a nest, allow deinos to "cover" it, then put the eggs under the map. Benefits: The eggs are now much safer Cons: You now need to dig them up to allow someone to hatch.

The different nests make for some unique choices of where you would like to build. I imagine the Hypsies building multiple nests near each other kinda like social weaverbirds, which I think is where the design of that nest came from. Or pteras nesting on the rocks where other dinos cant reach them and just bringing back food every once in a while

I dont want to sound rude here, but i think the animations are a bit cheap and not quality works. There are so many real life examples they could have chosen ideas from for the courtship animations and yet we got these... Also i really hope they gona make more type of nests like dirt and sand/foxhole type of nests for immersion and also to be able to pick up the hatchlings!

This is all still a work in progress. Things will probably be tweaked in the future, possibly animations changed etc. Also, I think there will about 50 animals so I would think there will be more variety of nests

Hopefully deinos water doesn’t drain as fast as usual. (Still draining fast just a LIL slower) just so nesting females and finding sticks you’re not constantly waddling back to the river to get water every 2 mins.

Thing that always confused me about nesting in The Isle is the only thing it does is take longer to get to adult, no other benefits just longer growth as games like Beasts of Bermuda has traits that can be passed down. So while nesting sounding cool for roleplay, i don't see myself doing it at all as what's the point.

eventually animals who spawn in will be marked with a tracker due to them being dropped of by merc/ the replicator allowing for mercs to track marked animals but with nesting you wont have one

Can't wait for this update to finally be released. The nesting is going to bring so much to the game, easier to get into groups and whatnot. Plus the colors are going to bring so much change to the game. Most people don't even realize the subtle changes that are going to happen when everything looks unique. People are less aggro and more likely to check others out, unless they're hungry and it's in their diet.

I know a lot of people prefer the in ground deino nest, I actually like the twig nest for it instead. Deinosuchus are more related to alligators and caimans, who do use twig and branch nests instead. I’d like the nest to be more circular and flatter then the teepee sort of one, but its still fine.

.If the people that made the game cared about it the severs wouldent look like gta5 online GREIFFER central ..i get it a hunting /survival game but same ppl camping 20 body and killing any alvive ones coming in for the food and do this for hours on every na. eu, as, server 24/7 ..clear they not killing for food when there surrounded by 20-30 bodies ...there killing to GREIFF people .....shows that they dont give a shit of the game ....what new person is gonna come play a game where in the forst 30 min they have been killed 20 times by same people ..way servers are now no wounder why people leave and never come back ..i have only played for 5 days and im sick of it allready ................. Me binge watching isle videos because stress test nesting is the reason I played the isle the reason I grew now I finally will get it back soon I am so excited for skin system too back when I use to play legacy I always played with a black and white giga rest of the skins I had default now having legacy broken and unable to use the skin system for the moment I look back at those times wishing I would have made more skins overall very happy that this will hopefully be coming out to all of us sooner rather than later Sry for such a long comment ty for reading it

Wouldn't mind if they added some more dinos, over nesting, because currently the roster is boring. Carnos rule supreme, Utahs are too afraid to touch them, and Deino are only amazing if people go close to water, and that is if lucky

with the diet system, things have evened out a lot. players are having to cross water to get to food, as for new dinos, they added in the pachy not too long ago, and since nesting is such a large update, i can understand why they probably wont be adding a dino to go with it. once nesting is finally public however, traveling to food sources to keep even full grown dinos at their best, will probably be a must, since youll need to be at your best to protect and care for the next generation. plus travelling with babies means a free snack for some. like in real life, losing most of your young, in hopes that a select few make it, is part of surviving. i have hopes this update will even things out a lot.

@@harpinedoodles I only really needed to travel as a Carno, or a Utah for food as a carnivore. Not gonna include Ptera since swoosh over everyones head. But as Deino I could literally find a swamp, are some no one plays in, and just camp there, surviving on fish. Yes rivers are a thing, but still, the likely hood of spotting a dino isn't that high. While being a vegan, ain't that hard either, find plants, camp a bush nearby, and just eat or drink when needed. The gameplay ain't the greatest right now, only thing I can see being "fun" is being a carnivore, and yeeting yourself into a camping nest group, to get a little nugget for food. But even then, the balance between carnivores ain't still the greatest, and variety ain't the best either.

@@NightBane345 from what ive experienced playing as deino, fish wont give you much as an adult, unless you can find the decently sized fish. which means hunting prey that roams the land, would be more efficient. also, you can replicate fish bubbles by holding down your sniff key, to attract pteras. although this shouldnt really be done when you are low on hunger, and should be more so a free snack tactic. as for not coming across dinos who need to cross the river, i would say stick around center, and swamps, as stegos and pachys need to travel from center, to swamp, and back again, to maintain their diet. basically, youll find a lot of dinos traveling within the central grasslands, because most herbivores feed from there, or need to cross around that area to get to and from food. and im pretty sure the closest shallow crossing point, which is overall safe from deinos for the most part, is further along down the river, which some would rather just take the chance and swim. of course, the only problem with this, is the map is still quite small-ish, so the center can be quite crowded, and possibly with other deinos too, so jjust something you kind of have to deal with.

@@harpinedoodles I've managed to survive, I think it was the south east swamp, basically opposite of the beach, not the big one you can spawn in, but next to it. It's so easy to cheese those things, once you know where to go, few people ever go to certain places. And the fish there spawn regularly. I use those tactics often just to grow, and truthfully, come across other players there more than when sticking to the rivers. Yes the centre is chaotic as hell, not gonna say otherwise. But so few places to hang out, you have to kill your competition, or for one, they'll kill you. Or not enough food for you. I see the potential The Isle has, and I want it to succeed, but over the years, that has slowly died down, as it has for many people. My hopes ain't high for it, but not at the bottom either. I just hope Dondi doesn't up and leaves it, but if he does, maybe would be good, since he did it with Primal Carnage. And that game seems to just do fine after he left, after fcking it up royally. Once again, I still hold my views, that they need more dinos in the game, to shake it up a bit, along with more variety on AI, the amount that spawns, along with map getting a bit bigger, with new things.

It’s gonna be annoying, I love hypsi and when this update comes out I really wanna nest. Problem is that when the update has been put for a while nobody will play as hypsi anymore, so how the hell will I make a nest with no mate? I think they should make something to fix that, so the dinos that are never being used can actually place a nest without a mate, but finding a mate is still an option.

Doesn't matter how cool all the features are, the game is laggy and unplayable if you're in certain countries. The AU servers have 0 players and 160 ping for me and I am in AU, if I want to play on NA servers its 300 ping... Evrima servers are garbage and I'm stuck playing legacy.

I've been playing the isle for a while (about 500 hours in total between legacy and Evrima) and I enjoy it! I didn't have a lot fun playing games like Ark where you train/ride dinos.( I wanted to BE them) The game is $22 CAD, cheaper if you catch it during a steam sale. PLUS... with this new update coming out, Evrima is about to get a lot more interesting imo! So... take that as you will! (and if you *really* hate it, you can get your money back within a certain amount of time after purchase.)

I tried to play this game and it wouldn’t allow me all it gave me was a blank screen turns out it’s a problem that’s been going around for a long time so what I did was get rid of it got my money back never touching this again so until they fix it I’m not playing this So if any of you have a good method of making a work that doesn’t evolve going through your PC and having to do multiple things just be able to make it work and have him do it every single day please let me know cause man this game looked enjoyable but it’s not so enjoyable when I’m not able to play it
