From what I understand Turcite is applied to the sliding member that does not leave any area exposed or overhanging, ie on the carriage and not the bed. Thanks for another good video Cliff 👍

Hi Spencer. Yes I should have been more specific about that. What I meant was that under the carriage surface sliding on the bed, it looks to be present on the larger surfaces, but not on that narrow surface over the top edge that takes a lot of the weight. Cheers Cliff

Although I'm a manual machine man but every morning before I start running one of my lathes I wipe off the ways and oil the ways and oil all the oil cups and check the oil flow window to make sure the oil in the headstock is doing it thing. I can do that because I own the machines.

Hi Cliff, you mentioned the z direction dovetail on the 15L slant pro being particularly prone to wear (cast iron to cast iron) but surely they must have induction hardened those surfaces, no? I only ask, as I am thinking of getting one of these! 😀

Hi Steve. Yes induction hardened would be nice. But a procedure like that is usually advertised as a selling point and there is no mention of it anywhere I have seen. If anyone knows otherwise, please post here. Remember it is from a low cost Chinese manufacturer built down to a price. Cliff
