Something underrated is having a physical password manager. Online ones always have the risk of being breached (I think lastpass had that happen a while back). I have a small notebook that I carry round with me if I think I'll be logging into something.

Use a passwordcard. If someone finds it, it is still useless to them. You choose the pattern/rules to get the string, and then you can salt it with an additional phrase or something.
@perfecttroubler1767

Simple thing to do with password manager is that you add simple word after every password that you dont save in manager itself, but in your brain. For example your password is x1234tCARROT But in password manager shows only x1234t. And you just add it to all your passwords.

Hey Niko first I would like to say that I love what you’ve been doing with your KZbin channel and you deserve 100k and more. If you’re still answering viewers’ questions, I would like to ask something. I have a female friend I have gotten closer with over the past year and was thinking of asking her out, but there are a couple of holdbacks. First, when we text, I always start the convos, but once they get started, they can flow naturally. She never texts me first though. Secondly, we have a pretty good friendship and since chances are, the relationship won’t last long if it starts at all, I don’t want to ruin our current friendship by making things awkward. Third, one of my friends also likes her and is much closer, in her private snap stories, etc., and he’s also planning on asking her out. Could you help me out? I found your channel a couple months ago and have been greatly enjoying it, keep it up man!

Hey man, I am no niko but here you go my answer anyway. If you really value your friendship and having her in your life, then dont do it. From what you said I dont really see that she is interested in a relationship with you. The key to having someone interested in you in that way is that they would come to you first instead of always you coming to them. People who like you will think about you in their minds and will have a need to make contact with you from time to time. I once liked someone but they rarely made the first contact with me, spoiler alert: they didnt like me back. But there was that one person in my life that day to day was sending me messages asking me how I am doing. He liked me and wanted to be in a relationship with me but I couldnt do that because he was a man and I wasnt gay. What I am trying to say is that you can clearly spot someone who likes you if they are making the contact with you regularly, from your story she most likely doesnt want to be in a relationship with you. And the fact that she is closer to the other guy more than you tells you enough for you to understand the situation. Look I know its pretty bad, Ive too been there, but this is really a checkmate position. You are left with 2 choices, either keep your friendship with her or if the pain is too great leave her. I wont gonna tell you what to do but if you cant handle her being with another guy or being in friendship with her while liking her then maybe the best choice for your wellbeing is to leave the friendship. Personally I wouldnt choose the second one if I can deal with her being with another guy so I can keep our friendship, but if you cant take it... it might be for the best.
@Armeson

@@Ap4thy72 I really appreciate your comment, thanks man. I’ll stay in the friendship for sure, as I don’t think it’ll be too difficult to put feelings to the side. I actually just talked with the other guy and he said he is going to ask her out in the next week, so I’m hoping that goes well for him. I just feel like I haven’t had any real experience with asking people out and would like to do a few before high school ends so I can get better at it when it for the future. I still have a couple years left in high school though, so I have a good amount of time. Again, thanks for your advice, I’m really grateful for your help.

The thing is that I do not trust VPN companies. Because most of them are all owned by governments and conglomerates. Plus (and I'm speaking as a computer science student) they do really not much for keeping you safe. If you want to be safe on the internet, it's best you just don't use it. Other choices are using 2FA, using passwords, changing them often (I'd say every 90 days, that's what the company I work for has), staying away from your real name. Not using social media like facebook or instagram.

It's not worth paying those VPNS. Well, the ones that lots of big KZbinrs will promote. Those VPNs will not protect you online as they advertise. Your data will be kept on their servers, and if the FBI needs to see those data logs, they will cave in and just hand it out. My suggestion is to make your own vpn, you can follow a tutorial by Mental Outlaw, he's really big on data and privacy.

You dont wish that. Because if VPN's were and those who are free. Like how do they cover the expenses keeping their service up and running? That's right, they turn you into the product which they then later sell. If you want more security online for little cost, you can use a privacy respecting/more-hardened browser and set a custom DNS from reputable source. Or if you are slightly technical, you can self-host your own VPN. And there is also Tor nt.m (If you feeling extra scitzo that is) which is free to use.

I would be catious regarding alm these commercially advertize VPN's every creator is promoting. You first gotta ask yourself "Why do i need a vpn and who im a protecting myself against?" Alot of these commercial vpns are collectively owned by the same parent company and also dont provide any transparency report in how they handle or store your data. Combined with missleading marketing and claims that a VPN protect you against stuff it absolutely doesn't is also a red flag combined with giving people who dont know better a false sense of security. If you have to use a VPN, remember to look for a) do they allow you to sign up with as little information as possible b) Are they transparent about their auditing? Also what does their marketing say? c) Is their desktop/mobile app open source? If not all three of these criterias are met. I would advice not use that VPN service in particular.

If you don’t know, the anarchy community is the most toxic community around, and this guy, I believe his name was V0idinqq or smth, took my IP via an inappropriate video. Now I didn’t know this for a very long time, until he leaked it in front of 30+ people in a particular minecraft anarchy server that’s one of the most hardcore because you’d have to be accepted I believe to get in. Most services do give you back up restore codes to disable 2fa. So those you should save carefully on an encryped flashdrive and then keep the drive in a home-safe or something. Also some 2fa apps like Aegis on android do allow for creating local backups, which you should also do somewhat regularly and store on an external device.

There were no smart phones. Sounds boring, but I turned out better for it. And my generation (X) is notoriously anti-social and distrusting of the system. These days it's perceived as almost normal to put all your shit out there. I don't know what I would have done with social media if it were around during my childhood.
