In December 2022 Historic England put out a call for proposals to celebrate 50 years of the Protection of Wrecks Act. MSDS Marine were commissioned to undertake a project to bring maritime archaeology to inland, landlocked, audiences. As part of the project a 360° camera was loaned to licensee teams to gather footage of the protected wreck sites to use on a Oculus Go headset at public events.
This footage was collected by Jezz Davies and CISMAS in September 2023. You can view the footage in 360° using a virtual reality headset (it works best this way), or you can explore the 360° elements of the video by using your mouse, or moving your phone or tablet, to see new areas.
