This is probably the best video on this I could find, great help, in analyzing in depth what actually matters in an exam relevant structure.

I am a bit late, but Is it possible to visualize an embargo? A complete ban of imports would result in supply shift to where Sw crosses Dk? But I am not sure, since Qdk will not move along the demand curve at all.

This video really helped me out a lot to just go over all the topics as I have an exam tomorrow, thank you so much! A question about the impact on government - can't the govt sell quota licenses to producers to earn some revenue?
@Victor-mx6vs3 жыл бұрын
9:03 is wrong. Foreign producers still take Pw instead of Pq
@tdofeldt57423 жыл бұрын
Exactly how dafuq can the import price increase when its supposed to be constant. Only the domestic price will increase.
@shriyanspalshetkar53053 ай бұрын
foreign producers buy the good at the world price but sell it in the domestic market for the domestic price Pq hence their revenue is (Qq-Qk)*Pq
@tulinhvuong94465 жыл бұрын
why my book does not write like that?...
@tdofeldt57423 жыл бұрын
9:03 isnt this incorrect because the import price should remain at Pw? Only the domestic price increases
@tamoghnobanerjee50533 жыл бұрын
i think he meant to say that people that import foreign goods have to pay Pq. The foreign producers make Pw.

Watched this video literally around 10 times. Still don't get how imports are then sold at a higher price...

because quotas lays down restriction/barriers to the entry of goods in domestic market. Thus, leading to decrease in the supply with already high demand. Hence increasing the price of imports.

Adel imports are sold at a higher price since the world price increases

@@atharwashah324 the world price does not increase but the local one in order to clear the market, in other words create an equilibrium

Why does supply shift rightwards? After all in microeconomics we learned that supply is ONLY shifted by 5 factors and is not dependent on quantity demanded. Why doesnt the price just adjust to the domestic equilibrium price like what happens in a microeconomic shortage?
@courage9364 жыл бұрын
I believe there is an error here, producers would produce 0 to Qq after Quota is introduced, imports would be made up of Qq to Qe1, and loss in consumption would be Qe1 to Qdk. I'm not sure if I am right or not, but multiple text books contradict this video, I spent hours trying figure out what was going on ^^

Yh there are two ways to draw the quota diagram, the one you are mentioning and the one in this video

A high quality of video you made. Thank you very much. I was wondering what screening program and the sketchboard software you used to create the video?
@-etaq84745 жыл бұрын
Onenote obviously (for the sketch board software). And I think most computers with Windows or macOS has such a screening function.
