This is one of the best protective styles , low manipulation and I can oil my scalp and hair still . I soak my band in olive oil too . I have been having breakage and shedding so this perfect ! Oh ye and I am very bad at cornrows 🤣🤣🙃🥴

I was thinking about trying to do mine this way. I’m not a big fan of rubber bands so I started my twist as a braid & braided like 4 times down & the. I started my twist. Hopes this helps! 👑

That is the best advice! I do the same thing and avoid rubber bands all together. It's not a good idea to put rubber bands in the hair and then pull it up by pulling the hair (I have fine strands so I cant be that rough and get away with it lol)

Put a little oil on the rubber bands first and they don't need to be tight. As long as you moisturize the hair every other day they will come right out and most will pop on their own. I moisturize the scalp and the individual twist.

Hunni, puff madness 😂🤣😭…I struggle with same issue. Our hair has NATURAL BODY no teasing, diffusing etc., jus shake and go, lift in areas with fingers 🤷🏾‍♀️. This is only way we can tame our natural body wearing twist tho I’m not a fan but it works ☺️ Now plaits, cornrows I don’t need them ..Your hair is gorgeous, I mix all products together as well and in jar 🫙 🤗 I don’t got time to grab each bottle…😂🤣😭🤣

I usually don't use rubber bands unless I'm adding hair bc I can't grip my roots. I braid 4 to 6 times at the roots than twist down. But this method may help me im try this next time I twist it every 3 weeks
