I went rock climbing with my brother. Upon getting out of the car I found a Keychain someone had left or dropped with my fiancés initial. My brother said to me, "Oh that's gotta be good luck." I turned to him and replied, "Diligence is the mother of good luck." And just kind of nodded at him. Never thought I'd get to use some protest lyrics in actual life practice. I had that moment. Thank you Rody.

@@samaldini I'm not a big fan of Rody's vocals. He has impressive technical ability, but I find him a bit grating at times. @MMeesh134 жыл бұрын
@@samperez9712 Palimpset; a manuscript or piece of writing material on which the original writing has been effaced to make room for later writing but of which traces remain. something reused or altered but still bearing visible traces of its earlier form. I never thought of it in that sense as this has a lot of American history derivatives lyrically, but that's awesome to have the connection with the band themselves.

Much love from Georgia, USA. So straight up, this is my new favorite song. It's perfect in every way and that's how you open the new album. The only constant in my life that doesn't damn disappoint me is PTH. Your music means the world to me, dudes. Rody, you're pure gusto on this track during the "how did they end up here, what are they going to do" section makes my hair stand up every time I hear it. 2020 is hell, and this shit gets me through the day. In my little world, y'all are the bards of the proletariat revolution that's brewing. Unrelated, but thanks for not calling it quits, and a special thanks for getting Nagle on this one. Because holy shit. I'm a music snob. I'm in debt up to my eyeballs because I got the degree that says I can be a music snob, and to me, Palimpsest the perfect album from start to finish. It's the best PTH release yet and that's no small thing. You're yet to put out content that can be easily dismissed, but you're at the absolute top of your game with this one. Palimpsest is masterclass.

He blew it out a few years back. He notes that there wasn't any lasting damage and there were no medical complications or anything, but that it made him realize the way he was singing wasn't healthy and was unsustainable as he aged. Basically, he relearned how to sing from the ground up, so it's pretty much inevitably going to sound pretty different from what we're used to.

The more I listen, the more I hear similarities to all of their work thus far. Kezia and for some reason Scurrilous more so than the rest of their albums. Overall it sounds like a very accomplished work of art where they have truly evolved and grown as musicians. Yes, it would be awesome to have an album that sounded nothing like it's predecessors, Fortress for example, it's still amazing and satisfying as a fan to hear an amalgamation of their career done so beautifully.
@ernie3124 жыл бұрын
in literally what way does this not sound like them? lmao
@coltonpugh96694 жыл бұрын
@@ernie312 Exactly. The drums have that same punchy and groovy sound such as Chris Adler did on Volition after Moe's departure from the band. The drums here immediately made me think of Matt Halpern from Periphery. Very similar technicality and professional control. Rody sounds like he found his zone back on Scurrilous and has since stuck with it and evolved from there. The timing of the rhythms and overall pace has some new additions. Some more low end chugging breakdown ish sections. Overall though, this is still very much a Protest the Hero album and it immediately sounds as such.
