Someone tell Dan that the WBC is a fully sanctioned event by the highest governing body of international baseball with the full support of MLB. They're not exhibition games, the winner can literally claim the title of World Champion. Also Randy Arozarena is Mexican. A Cuban-Mexican sure, but he is, by his own admission, playing for his Mexican daughter, his family who lives in Mexico and for the Mexican people.

Actually there are MLB players that played for the Cuban team. Most noted my team the white sox, yoan moncada and luis roberts are in the pros but also played for the Cuban team.

Dominican here and the WBC was one of the best experiences I've had in my life, and that is coming off an embarrassing loss. The setting in Miami was perfect and it should remain there. That being said the Marlins found a way to screw up getting tickets for everyone by allowing their season ticket holders to buy as many tickets as they wanted (I know of someone that bought over $10,000 worth of tickets). Hopefully they can fix that for the next one because this tournament is growing and is very fun.

In this last year we have had an exodus of over 240,000 cubans (the largest exodus in Cuban history) and over 1,000 prisoners of conscience since the July 11, 2021 uprising .
