Proteus: The Budget Adrestia and Medium Blaster Kiting

This is great. It must have been quite a surprise for some of these people to get blapped by blasters at 30-40km. A Proteus is such a safe thing to point typically. I love how this fit does the opposite of what anyone expects and it's like purpose built for killing the things that have the most confidence about engaging it. Bravo Stitch. There are a lot of great content creators out there, but YOU are the king of off-meta fits.

Man, I think you would really love the new Exeq Navy for this. Off the top of my head I think the DPS is the same as the proteus with with the ENI bigger hybrid damage % , but two less turrets. Having two less turrets also helps bring the overheating damage down - though still might not be able to heat as long as the 6 turrets in a t3c, I don’t know. But the ENI is also fast with a plate and no speed mods (compared to the proteus at least). So you can swap speed rig for another ambit, and drop the TC for a defensive web to makeup for the lack of long scram. Certainly not as strong as the proteus - no doubt, but at 80M fitted, and not needing a pod - it sure is a fun budget option for blaster kiting!

used to be able to scram things down to 30km when there were event drugs. but i never thought about fitting tracking comp into mid slot. gj!

Nice video Stitch! are you thinking in doing the same with the new battlecruisers? ferox navy is interesting and myrmidon navy can reach 1k dps with blasters and drones while being dual rep fit.

Mine ended up.getting blinged due to how effective it was with the "cheap fit" still applied 144 dps to 60km with perfect tracking on ceptors catches so may ships with their pants down i.e. vedmaks and vagabonds.

I also ca.e up with a subsystem refit on the prop module that reduces tank/agility but gives me 5 mids so I can dual prop it for soloing dual prop veds and Vagas as well as giving more options for frig groups .

Oh yeah, coming back into Eve with a brand new toon for me. In game name Petra Fried. Never was one to pirate or PVP, but some of you guys make it look very interesting. Perhaps I will do that activity with this one.

Still around and login pretty much everyday. The ability to get fights during my TZ is harder, so videos get made a bit slower. Though starting to see some life again in FW so maybe I can get some out a little faster again.

I considered it towards the end of testing. I think a RAH is perfectly reasonable though, just figured id finish the fights off with the fitting i had been using

I keep them as cheap as possible. Hence why I had a MAAR instead of a-type rep just to find out if the theory was sound. Otherwise, i sell my pvp spoils, rat the scannable sites in nullsec, run relics, ESS and sell off older fits and occasionally get donations. I'm normally always around 2-3b at any given time. Which is why I can't generally use HG's, since it would wipe me out.

@@stitchk2755 thanks for answer! How many hours on average do you spent money earning? Or ratio between PVP vs grind. I suck at pvp outside FW plexes so for me its always terrible ratio 😀 I do abyss for money or FW plexes when waiting for pvp.

@@michalkalavsky i dont really have a set schedule. Sometimes i wont pve for a couple months because what im flying is very cheap and my isk ratio comes out positive after killing things with more bling than me. If i fly something more expensive then i go through my pvp spoils and sell them. Having collected 40 of common t2 modules (bcu, dcu, invulns etc) adds up over time and makes for a nice chunk of change.

@@michalkalavsky just need to get good enougth where the value of the loot are higher then the value of ships you loose to pvp:) im far from the best pvp pilot around, but i still got around 200-250 kill last 18 months, and in that process ive only lost 3 pvp ships worth rougly 700 mill. and just one of the kills i did couple days ago i was bit lucky and got 650 mill worth of loot. when normal faction modules are easily worth up towards 100-150 mill each, and people tend to use them alot, you dont have to kill much to be isk positive.

2 questions: would it be slightly better to have the ancil and the mwd on the outer most slots for overheating? How is the pacific time US small gang roaming these days? (Former ustz Tusker debating re-entry into EvE)

Yes, I just slipped up in the fitting arrangement. Unfortunately, late USTZ is one of the weakest EVE timezones, its getting harder to find fights/content unless you only go to people's stagings.

1.4k cold "kiting" Only if Aurora actually plays eve and knew proteus's true weakness is it's horrible speed and agility instead of 100 drone bandwidth But here I am back again, vainly expecting CCP actually know what they are doing to their game

There were 2 things fixed with the most recent balance pass. The extra bandwidth was nice and made the drone proteus actually feel competitive with other options. The extra PG helped a bit to make tankier fits or more unique ones (like my 100mn drone proteus). That being said, yes, its still painfully slow and could either use a base speed increase, or rework a sub-system to give a speed bonus.
