Wow! This final and prototype fusion sounds unbelievably phenomenal. Additionally, the changed key (from G major to Eb Major) works magnificently. Though relative, this pitch amplifies the atmospheric and serene mood that the unpolished 1993 version by Tomonori Sawada lacks. Finally, I wonder if this would be the route Senoue chooses for his renditions so that they reference the familiar final tracks? If not, will he rely on the FM soundbank in his Sonic 3D Blast entries (Title Theme, Invincibility, Green Grove, Spring Stadium, Panic Puppet Act 1, and the jingles)? Have my like!

Fancy seeing you here BGMR after I listened to your own amazing refinements. If the Origins music took a similar approach to this version or your versions, I’d honestly be happy. One thing I think sells this particular mix to me though is how the bass line has the same rhythm as the Hard Times track when the starting chords of the Hard Times track is present. As a bass player, that rhythmic detail really went a long way to make the fusion work for me. 😁😁

This is such an incredible mashup. The Prototype versions of Ice Cap's music was the only prototype music I was not as fond of compared to what went used, but the usage of the sounds from the used Ice Cap music with the melody of the prototype music makes me appreciate Ice Caps Proto music a lot more now. I'm so sad that we didn't get prototype music like this in origins. After hearing this, this is now my favorite rendition/cover of ice cap in general.
