Nice review man, agree than the horsepower and torque figures provided by the powertrain is great, and the engine has added balancer shaft etc....but...it is still a 3 cylinder force Induced engine..... understand that proton is assembling this powertrain in Tg Malim, so they will have to install this powertrain on as many models as possible...no doubt that the x70 is an amazing value proposition, but ......

I am driving X70 premium 1.5t, space grey. Whenever my friends who driving cx5, toyata cross fell in love when they drive X70. They said x70 look more luxury , more comfortable and very smooth compare with their cars which is more expensive than x70. They not go for x70 because this is under proton. But they said x70 is game changer for proton and other SUV in the market. Me too very happy whenever drive my X70. Lot of function. "Hi proton" is like my travel friend. Enjoying 😄

Another honest review, Bobby. Yes, X70 is great value and definitely better overall ride comfort & NVH compared with even the new HRV and maybe the Toyota Cross too! Booby, this 1.5L road tax is RM120, 3x cheaper than the 1.8L. Another fantastic feature (not found in many vehicles) is the front ventilated seats!

one thing we all cannot deny, before proton X70, other car maker didnt bother to give its best of its product to consumer. Version after version release, everything just are the same in term of the functionality and feature. Nothing special and nothign to be excited about except for those luxury car la, that one consumer pay more , of course will get more out of their car la, no need say la. But after X70 drop in, with it price point, with it functionality & feature offered and its quality of material provided to the consumer, it was really a game changer to the market. Suddenly all the other car maker got a SERIOUS wake up call (jialat feel). Every car maker start to rush/publish their new release with promising tech and feature though the car was just hitting their production line. As u can see recent released car from any maker (T,H,F, even Perodua) has throw in all that they has and really felt the pressured by proton. With X50 selling like hotcake, perodua is not going to lose it and start throwing their alza to compete at that price point. And not to mention other car maker either. Look at the new alza, it has EVERYTHING that one can think off, except the engine that is underpower la. Even my wife that never thought of buying car also get influence by it and place an order for it. OMG ...if my wife will buy car, i believe a lot of ppl will be tempted to buy it, and KL confirm will be more jam after this.... So as much as we dont like about certain thing of proton, but still there is still some credit we ought to reward proton ever since x70 hits the market. And as consumer we dont get squeeze by all those japanese corp anymore as they thought that everyone have to buy their car only. Consumer dont need to see their face anymore with their every "version the same" release and yet the price still keep going up.

I’m an owner of the X70 since December and when I thought long and hard about what car I’d have to upgrade to once the loan is paid off, the only answers I could arrive at were double (if not more) the price of this car. X70 is a damn good car at that price range. Cant find any other suv at this price range and give such comfort & refinement. The 1.5T low end torque is sweet. not fast nor super powerful, but at least more effortless than cx5 2.0 in my 🏠> hrv , exora mc2 & latest cx5 2.0NA. Note : if some of you considering cx5 2.0 or x70 , pls go for x70. Cx5 2.0 , look good , handle good , but power is no no. Need rev higher rpm to build some torque to move the car which i don’t really enjoy.

Went to view the latest HRV some time in September. Have it test driven. My verdict : No way that Honda can outdo X70 or X70 . Be it cabin quality , NVH and ride comfort. This Proton outshines HRV. When will the Japanese stop thinking and perasan that they make better cars than Chinese automakers? The Japanese stop learning but not the Chinese. They are so determined.

The thing that I noticed the MC update doesn’t have front seats headrest tilt adjustment anymore. And from the video, the vanity cabin mirror doesn’t have auto led lamp like those 2018/2020 version and it’s not a slide type lid anymore. Just flip like Proton Saga one 😢

I got a 2022 X70 1.8 in the family, so the top spec one. No more headrest tilt is a big bummer, but in the sunroof spec we still have the vanity mirror led. And the rearview mirror has the frameless effect too, something the lower X70 probably don't have.

I Trade In my 7 years BMW 218i 1.5 with B38 engine to this X70 1.5, If you had driving the B38 BMW engine, its not fuel saving. It depends on your foot, the fuel consumption.
