Will this method work for indicating on the OD of a round part versus an ID as was demonstrated in the video?

How would one find the middle of a line and a circle using the ProtoTRAK SMX CNC ?

To find the center of a line, the easiest way is to switch your DRO to incremental display using the INC/ABS button. Then, move your edge finder to the first point on your line and push X or Y and INC SET. Next move to the other point and read the the total incremental distance it has traveled. Divide that number by 2 and move your table back to that number. Now, switch back to the absolute display and zero out your absolute value for that axis. The only way to find center of a circle is to use an indicator. I hope this helps! T.P.

@@trakingpat2750 Thank you for your reply. I'm new to the SMX controller and I was kind of hoping I had missed some blatantly obvious divide by 2 function somewhere in the software. Is there one planned for the SMX in the future? Otherwise, I find my new to me DPM5 a joy to use. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
