ERYTHROCYTIC CYCLE: Stages in ERYTHROCYTIC CYCLE: Cryptomerozoits to Schizont to Merozoit to Gametocytes The Cryptomerozoits enters into RBC cell, multiplies and produce more number of schizonts. Schizonts undergo repeated divisions to produce merozoits. These merozoits attack new RBC cells and produce more number of merozoits. RBC cells undergo rupturing and release plasmodium parasites into the blood. In blood again merozoits produce gametocytes and they develop further in side mosquito. Symptoms:
abdominal pain
chills and sweats
diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting
high fevers
muscle aches poor appetite
Along with these sometimes blood leaks out. Child become weak and unconscious even death will occurs. Diagnosis: Blood test : Clean the middle finger of sick patient with alcohol. Prick the finger with needle or lancet to ooze the blood.
Take one or two drops of blood on to the clean glass slide.
Spread the blood drops on to the glass slide with spreader. This process is called as smear preparation.
Add one or two drops of geimsa stain to observe parasite. Wait for 2-3 minutes.
Observe under microscope.
Plasmodium will observe as thick stained cell in RBC cell. So the patient is considered as positive for malaria.
Control:
By maintaining good hygienic conditions.
By using of mosquito nets.
By using mosquito coils.
By spraying chemicals like DDT and BHC in houses to kill mosquitoes.
By spraying kerosene on mosquito stagnant water where mosquito lay eggs.
By using drugs like QUININE, but now a days these parasites developed resistance against QUININE, so scientists has started to discover alternative drugs other than QUININE.
Those are chloroquine, paludrine and daraprim etc.
So, children beware of these dangerous diseases like MALARIA, DENGUE etc.
