Lisa Hartman singing on KL was part of her contract agreement. At one time she wanted to be a solo singer like Madonna before Madonna was even discovered. Her popularity blossomed more as an actress then a singer however and she more or less aged out as singer and then married Clint Black and settled down as Mrs. Clint Black occasionally doing duets with him. I enjoyed her singer always.

She released two albums before Knots. Many of the songs on KL are from her third album. She released a fourth pop album in 1987.

I remember watching this on "Knots Landing" in the 80's and loved the song and singer so much! Over the years I would actually sing the " I've got a hold in my heart" part just out of the blue. Thought about this song a lot and was so thrilled to see it here and be able to play it over and over again.

Why in the world did she stop singing pop and rock I know she married Clint Black and sang a duet or two with him but has not even recorded a country album I miss her a lot I started collecting her when she had her first album out add kirshner records the great song Kentucky rainbows. And the second album with you don't love me anymore which is outstanding I just hope that she will start recording again someday😊

Lisa Hartman was pretty versatile in terms of styles. Looks like they were going for a kind of Pat Benatar vibe here, with a touch of Stevie Nicks, and it works. Benatar and Nicks were probably the biggest early 80s female pop rock acts, at the time of this episode.

I remember poor Dominique dying at the hands of her psycho boyfriend in late 1982, while she was filming the sci-fi miniseries “V”. She had a pretty big part in that miniseries and they had to recast her and reshoot some scenes (and they dedicated the show to her memory at the very end of the credits). But based on the timing, my guess would be by the time of Dominique’s murder, Knots had already planned and written Ciji’s death, if not already filmed it. So to answer your question, there’s a 99.9% chance it was, yes, a coincidence.
