Just want to thank you for all the effort that you put into your content, it’s been a big help to me and many others! I’ve been anti credit cards until recently because of life changes and realized how much they can play an intricate part in saving you money with a better credit score. It would be nice to see a video on how having multiple cards with a balance paid in full every month but still show a balance on your credit report can help improve your credit score by increasing your payment history/percentage. Could be a false premise on my part but do believe it has helped increase my payment history.

Definitely agree with what you're saying with Discover. Capital One was my first issuer and despite a perfect payment history and never carrying a balance, they still outright refuse to increase my credit limits on either of the cards I hold. Got approved for a chase card and they only gave me 2.5k. Applied for the discover it a few weeks later and they surprised me with 8k. I will also say Capital One is ran by robots, the CS agents have no say in anything. Getting a product change or a credit line increase is like pulling teeth with them. If the algorithm doesn't like you then you're SOL. Hope my experience with discover will be better. Maybe it's just that I'm bitter about my past experience with C1 over the past three or so years but Discover actually giving me a card that aligns with my credit history left a good first impression for sure.

I have started out with Capital One Savor and Chase Prime Visa and pay them off when my balance gets to 15% of available credit(or every month, whichever comes first). I want to add one or two more cards to get my credit limit up. Here's my question- Should I take a certain amount of time to build a good history with these first two cards BEFORE applying for additional cards? Would waiting give me a better chance at getting a higher limit on any additional cards? Would jumping the gun result in me being stuck at lower limits for a longer period? Great content, by the way.

Amex has been the most generous for me, while Bank of America has been the most stingy. Even though my accounts with Amex are newer than my accounts with Bank of America plus having a checking and savings account with them, they've yet to give me an automatic increase and only gave me half of the increase I requested the one time I have requested an increase lol.

No matter What credit card you have you going to have to get dicipline and pay on time. The numbers matter but more important is your utilization with the numbers you have for them what if you have a car that's only $500 in it get good at managing that then if you get $1,000 credit card get good at mending that by paying everything on time. Build up your discipline and the offers will come.

@@sebastianmizzell7541 most ppl think that if you can pay off your monthly debt, a credit card can be worth it based on the rewards. Say you spend 2k, that’s only 20-30 dollars back. Because on average you only get about 2-3 percent back. But, what if you budgeted? Maybe you can cut your spending by 10 percent, maybe more? Same with flight points. It’s about 2-3 cents per point. What if you independently saved by cutting spending? Generally, high credit card limits are good on business accounts. But residential cards? I get it, if they are really low, but stop maximizing your them as a way to see how far you can go.

@IPFreeley respectfully, your looking at it all wrong. If your using your credit cards to pay for things you can't afford to pay for every month, you could find yourself in debt and you are trapped!! If you use your cards to pay for every day purchases, within your budget, that you would be using your debit card or cash to pay for anyway, and then you pay your balance off at the end of every month, you get the benefits of the rewards, however small you feel like they are. You may be able to buy dinner with them or shave $200 off of a flight and that is nice at times. For me, I want the high credit limit in case I do have an emergency and need the funds right now. Things like that do happen in life. You could have a family member die without life insurance and the funeral home wants the money RIGHT NOW to bury them. They have their hand out for your credit card or theres no funeral or burial (been there) But it doesn't mean I need to run up debt I can't pay off every month and pay a ton of interest. I don't do that and most people who have good credit dont do that either. I understand if you have an emergency, you can get caught in a trap, but that's what credit cards are for. If that happens, you could use your good credit score from responsibly using and paying your credit cards monthly to get a low interest loan to pay it off. If you have no mortgage or other loans and you have a car you just paid off, you need credit cards to keep your credit score up, because the ONE thing you don't want to happen, is to find yourself with no revolving credit at all. Then you end up without a FICO score for all 3 credit bureaus and that's a bad place to be (Been there too) The days of paying for everything in cash like our parents and grandparents did are gone. We all need credit in today's world. Its all about discipline and using them responsibly.

You can't really do that anymore. Lenders require the down payment to be in your account for 60 days and most lenders and sellers aren't going sit around and wait for 60 days to pass. If your able to take that big of a cash advance on a card the interest would be extremely high and not worth it anyway.
