In reality the time period is amplitude dependent....and tends to be infinite at 180 degrees of angular amplitude.....You approximation is valid only when amplitude is very small.... ..this approximation is done using the fact that sin(x) is almost equal to x when x is very small

You need to do experiment with real pendulum not with the one that found in some kind of apps which is configured to have time period which is independent of amplitude ..
