Check, check and double check. I, also, like to touch everything on my final walk around before pulling out. One tip I would suggest is to not use a lock on your hitch when actually towing. Heaven forbid, if your trailer brakes or batteries cause a fire, you don't want something hindering your unhitching to save the truck (or trailer). I like how thorough your system is. WLBS Ken

Good video. Thank you! I was wondering about how to stow the Travel Berkey. One thing you didnt mention was putting all the shades down. I think that is really important so that your AS doesnt heat up while you are traveling. Also no sewer hoses or tv antennas or electrical hoses or cords to put away since you are boondocking. 😆

Thanks for watching, Kathy! After finding our Berkey on the floor, water everywhere, a few too many times, our current system seems to be working well. Good tip to draw the shades. We forgot to mention that! Definitely want to make sure everything is disconnected after camping with hookups 😬

I find that shades store up prevents the sway of the blind from side to side and lowers the wear and tear on the blinds. I guess it's all an individual choice.

Is that a 25FB? That's what I'm going to get in May; can u come to Colorado and train me on how to do everything??;) I'm a newbie...and scared!
@ThisWyldeLife3 жыл бұрын
It's a 27FB. A lot of similarities to the 25FB. Congrats on your impending purchase. It seems like a lot to learn, but you will figure it out with experience. There's a ton of information on KZbin and forums like airforums.com

And r u towing with a half ton?
@ThisWyldeLife3 жыл бұрын
We tow with a Chevy 2500. The Airstream has a ~1,100 lb tongue weight when fully loaded for camping, which really eats into the tow vehicle's payload capacity.

I noticed how your emergency brake cable is curled up. The way I understand it, you want that cable to be able to only extend a few inches shorter than the length of the emergency chains. I understood you want the trailer brakes to turn “on” so the trailer will slow down and not crash into the truck. It looks like it your trailer came off the hitch the length of your cable would never “pull the pin” and activate the electric brakes. Possibly I don’t understand the system.
@ThisWyldeLife3 жыл бұрын
It might be hard to tell in the video, but the coiled brake cable is shorter than the emergency chains. So if the trailer came off the hitch, the brakes would be engaged before the emergency chains were fully extended.
