As a Wii Wheeler, there are some things you just don't have control over or are stupidly difficult like influencing your trick or neutral hopping but if you bash your head against the wall long enough you can use it

I use the wiimote (no wheel) and have gotten all gold(finally), including mirror. The only short cut I used was Desert Hills, and that was because I got knocked off the road, and hit boost to get over the hill. I have tried the nunchuck, and the ccp, and could not get the hang of either of them. The ccp makes my hand hurt. On most of the 150 and mirror I used Koopa and Magicruiser. I hadn't played much in several years, and just got back into it in the last few months. I did have a few cup wins, (in 50 & 100) from previously. Now I'm going to start practicing with the ccp.

a few months ago i did a little study where i took the top 500 ghosts of every reg track on chadsoft, and looked at their controllers. Classic won, with Nunchuk close to it. GCN and wheel were kinda just in their own zone. Classic: 39.9% Nunchuk: 32.4% Gamecube: 24.5% Wii Wheel: 3.3% cool video btw

Is that an off brand gcc though? I mean the layout is still definitely worse by a good margin since to claw you'd be putting your index finger on the stick, but still using an off brand gcc definitely hurts the experience a lot, they're like $20-$30 for usable ones on ebay

It is, it cost me only 12 bucks and is super clicky, hence why it sounds so weird. I won’t be mailing the gcn so I’m not worried about it’s quality tho

You can claw GCN with your thumb on the stick, your index finger on the A button and your other thumb on the dpad. I'd send a video of it but my comment gets deleted when I do. But yeah, classic and gcn are pretty much equals with their own pros and cons.
