Is there any sort of strategy for the direction and method you use? I always find myself going in completely the wrong direction. for example, I probably would have multiplied the denominator out and ended up confusing the whole question. Do you have a sort of.. order/method you follow for deciding what to do at each step?

If you have 2 separate fractions trying to be proven as a single fraction, it's wise to combine the 2 separate fraction into a single fraction first.

Maybe late now but for C4 this gent does exams with video solutions... check them out they are key!! I wouldn't have got an A in C2 without them!!! If you don't want to do past papers you can even just go to your unit's page, look at the topic and the end will say "questions on XYZ"

Thank you very very much for these, my teacher didn't teach us all the units in time and i'm finding this really helpful as the chapters are difficult to learn just from the text book. I'm still worried about it a bit though just as my exam is very soon and i don't know if i'll be able to learn it that fast (teacher said she would fit it in at the last minute but didn't). I was wondering if you know if questions on identities come up a lot and how much marks they would probably be worth?

im confused at 3:40 when you say "now we'll expand these brackets" "1 times 1 = 1" ("1 times cos A = cos A") so what i don't understand is why, well how you multiplied by the number "1". On your problem all I see is ("1+cos A") not " ("1 (times) cos A")........

(1+cosA)^2 is equivalent to (1+cosA)(1+cosA). Expand (1+cosA)(1+cosA) = 1 + cosA + cosA + cos^2A = 1 + 2cosA + cos^2A
