As a matter fact, the time Rajinikanth entered in film industry 1975, Kamal was gradually cementing his place; Not a big actor, he was acting second hero with Sivakumar/ Vijayakumar too, though MGR was almost retiring, Sivaji wasn't, as he was acting good numbers of films as full-fledged hero. Mr.Rajinikanth, within 3 years of entry 1978, cemented his place and most sought; Film BILLA 1980 January release elevated him more as mass appeal long before BHAZHA1995. Even in the 80's he was the highly paid with consistent success, and his flop/ average were few and far between, thereby he maintained his formidability. There were seasonal actors around with few successes and faded away over time. Now where his position is the history, He is the only one has achieved this. Kamal lost his market long ago.
