We just returned from a Gate 1 walking hiking tour. We were based at the grand Europa hotel in sorento. The city is amazing. Great restaurants, shops and marina. We saw the 3 tenors one night at a museum who were very enjoyable. Absolutely nothing negative to say about sorento. Bistro 86 has wonderful food and the restaurant is a multilevel garden. Also LaLanterna.

This part of earth is stunning. I really love Italy, especially the South. I used to live there. But I also used to escape it during the months of July and August (and the video here proves my point. Nothing wrong with the videos! The images are lovely!). The crowds... to be avoided. May, June, September, Oktober. Perfect :)

Yeah, I would not recommend visiting Italy in July or August to anyone. I was just in Capri a few days ago and the "real feel" temperature was 127°F/53°C.
