Thank you for this video! To clarify, the chameleon tiny will only be able to clone tags as you demonstrate if they are authenticating with the reader just on the UID (aka using the same technology as a 125khz tag)? And if the target tags are using a higher security procedure with encryption keys then you'd need longer access to the tag so that you could run a nested attack etc?

Love your content. Nice clip. Just got the chameleontiny. What setting do you have the b button set to? To 'clone'? Any chance of an in-depth clip showing how to use the app etc please?

ok I already have it, you just have to put the mode in reader and the btlong in clone, I hope your videos anyway!

​@@QuentynTaylor I'm trying to get reader attacks working on the ChameleonTiny but i can't seem to find the proper firmware for it. ChameleonGUI is saying i'm lacking the DETECTION cmd for the mfkey32 key recovery. Any help would be appreciated!

@@Herearetheundead have you used the mobile app and connected the chameleon to that ? you can then do a firmware upgrade direct in the app. Personally i just used the one direct from github and flashed it via linux

​@@QuentynTaylor Haven't been able to test the app yet, i will give it a go if i can get my hands on an android device. I've been able to flash the firmware, but for some reason it just doesn't support the MF_DETECTION. I will give it another go tomorrow, see if i can compile it myself this time. Maybe that helps too

What is the read distance? I mean, is it possible to communicate with readers that read data from a key inserted in a slot?

Hi Quentyn. Just subscribed and enjoying the videos, so thanks for the time and effort. I’m just getting into the world of all this RFID tech and looking to progress. I’ve just got the Tiny and the proxmark 3. First stumbling block is I’m not an android phone user. Do you think its worth swapping over now so these devices will be compatible? The tiny does not seem to store any card / tag details as in your video, the A / B button just scrolls through the channels. No white light to identify a read on anything I’ve tested and they are all cards that are working and visible on a RFID reader hooked up to my Raspberry Pi. Totally new to all of this so would appreciate any pointers!! Cheers

hi you dont need to use an android phone as there is a perfectly good windows / mac client written by Iceman see here github.com/iceman1001/ChameleonMini-rebootedGUI there is a binary release on that page for windows that gives you the same functionality as the android app

Hello Quentyn, my chameleon tiny shuts off immediately after I turn it on. I can barely change one setting-slot. On Usb it works. Charging light blinks. Any ideas ? I already tried refitting the battery but nothing changed...

is id you just need to copy the serial number alone you dont need the mobile app

hi the easiest way is via the app, connect the device to the app, go to the "device page" and then hit BLE command 5 times from here chameleontiny.com/a-upgrade-to-the-latest-firmware/ else the linux / github way works fine too

once you use the tiny chameleon rfid reader/writer .......how mant time can you use it after youve successfully copied a card ........say to use the pool at a fancy apartment complex hahahhaa is it a one time use or can i use it multiple times

no once a card is stored in the memory bank you can use it as many times as you wish
