smol combos to consider: yggdrasil+norn = an extra attack per pair Iwanagahime+thviti (in hand) = 73k attack before boost. Gleaming Lord is good for giving an extra marker (especially on force-2) Auspecies increases vanguard power while making Iwanagahime cheaper.

Man, I'm so glad you weren't playing your messiah deck. That would have been really painful to watch you throw. I do feel you though on "It's been a long day". I only get to play maybe once a week if that due to working a full time job and I literally broke down in tears trying to fight my friend's Overlord the X deck because I felt so powerless against it no matter what I did. Sometimes you just need a break from the thing that's supposed to "de-stress" you. Sometimes Cardfight Vanguard isn't fun or fair to play. Please don't overwork yourselves.

Fenrir seems to be the weakest VR of the set so far but still not a bad deck. Astral Poets will cost a lot more to build but the added consistency and sheer pressure it puts on the opponent is way more scary than what I've seen Fenrir accomplish.

Fenrir was not meant to be a rush deck lmao, it is a toolbox deck that people actually need to use their brain to pilot😂😂. Playing a deck like astral poets in a tourney and you will sure to sulk that u g assisted😂😂

@@eugeneteo4857 problem is though it’s a toolbox deck that takes some thought to pilot but the payoff is abysmally low with Yggdrasil being the only finisher of the deck and requiring checking multiple triggers to really be a threat.

@@TheNeuralDread checking multiple triggers is an exaggeration, check a single trigger with a single force marker including the 5k power pump will bring it up to 48k which is already more pressure than a lot of the other force decks can reliably do on turn 3. For example, messiah can do the volcogade combo and it literally does the same but worse compared to what regalia brings to the table. Also i dont see why the payoff is low, being able to access the deck for whatever u want is already an insane ability where u can find ur regalia, vanagandr as well as your perfect guard depending on the situation. Consistency, multiattack, top deck manipulation brings up the ceiling of the deck but at the same time lowers the floor of the deck. Maybe I am wrong with this but just compare the engine to other clans that are in this set. Gurguit super cb reliant for both offense and defense, full bronto needing two copies of vanquisher in hand to pull of the combo and may experience an empty turn if you cannot find the third copy and finally astral poets run ridiculous grade counts that is just screaming for v assists. At first glance the highroll potential of other decks cloud their consistency in which fenrir is the opposite where consistency comes first the pressure will continue.

@@eugeneteo4857 I proxied the deck and in my opinion It was a really fun deck and as long as you used certain cards you could pull off combos pretty easily and I think it was a bad match up, Fenrir keeps a decent hand size but Astral poet has a 70,000 unit swinging twice and the vanguard with its fricken 14 force markers and it’s new consistency buff Fenrir just couldn’t handle the pressure.

@@shadowsaiyansdbs4768 if you dont play the regalia engine how are you going to kill off decks? I proxied it myself as well and the pure build literally lose 70% of the time against the best decks in format such as nightrose luard and chronojet which have at average 11 cards in hand per turn. The multiattack combined with the powerpump of the triggers and force markers makes regalia some sort of a finisher or pressure card to lower the opponent's resources. LETS BE HONEST, 15k guard for all of the rg attacks turn 1? Even g2 turn for luard is better than the first g3 turn of fenrir in terms of numbers. Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months u need to have higher pressure than pure fenrir to beat the best decks like luard nightrose and chronojet

Have you tried Ashwa and Palmett in Fenrir? While I think the Regallia cards are neat for enabling multiattacks, I feel like they put too much of a strain on your soul and CB. When testing them I found them to be kind of cloggy and even got in the way of my Fenrir plays at points. Granted I played each at 4 copies during testing; so I want to know your thoughts on the Regallia combo and weather or not Ashwa/Palmett is worth testing as opposed to just running more basic Fenrir/Genesis stuff.

What do yall think after trying force 2 valkerion? Also, I'm sorry if it came across as me complaining in other videos that you weren't using force 2. I was mainly proud that I'd found success using a different strategy from what most people were doing and I wanted to share it.

It definitely can be dangerous But after testing it is also situational More times F2 will be better then F1 but some games, especially going second, you might want to opt for F1 If your opponent can get to G3 first and prep for your turn its a lot easier on them to prep for 2 70k swing rather then 3 big swing Going second you also get to damage your opponents first so they might be at high enough damage where 3 big swings will be better then 2, especially when running 16 crit lol But overall F2 seams to be the more threatening option but can easily backfire I’d say if you are going first definitely F2, if going second depending on the situation and the deck you are facing F1 or F2 Good example is Nubatama who on their first G3 ride already have 2 protect markers in hand and enough hand to spare

For me it mainly comes down to what pressure can I exert on the opponent without having to rely on triggers, and the earlier I can threaten lethal, the better to not give them time to build up pgs, etc. Thanks for your advice! Without divine gauge support Fenrir quite literally has no finisher or real pressure. Best the deck gets without that is 4 attacks ranging from 20k-40k.

Late reply, but Force II changes the basic crit of a unit to 2. This means it doesn’t stack with multiple markers, and units that have base 2 crit or a skill that makes them base 2 Crit dont benefit from Force II either

F2 says "the original Critical of units on that circle becomes 2", so you can stack 10 F2 markers that all say the same thing, and the units crit will still be only 2

Once you select a type (type 1 or type 2) you can only make markers of that type for the rest of the game So if you ride and make a F2 marker, for the rest of the game you can only make F2 markers

I feel like Fenrir is more suited for force 2 , the rg already giving the vanguard the power it needs to hit 33k I really think force 2 on vanguard is much better for pressure , and you don't really go reride most of the time also I think selective soul charging and stacking is much better way to soul charge rather than random soul charging idk how I feel about yggdrasil as a finisher. I think that's the missing piece for fenrir that people need to figure it out , the finisher. I honestly think fenrir is a well deserved VR , its only missing some piece for it to be really strong or things to figure out. the way people underrating this card is the same way as the people underrating messiah.
