If you don't want to watch this video, what I'm essentialy saying is that using paid in game currency to pay for a in game product is a common trick to make the consumer spend more money than they would have spended by purchasing the original product directly.
If there are any economist in the comments that want to explain it better than I do I encourage you to do so and I'll heart your comment.
I hope that PM realizes this, becouse one of the selling points of Limbus is that it is a "fair" gacha that doesn't aim directly for you money, but here they are tricking people to spend more money. For me if they wanted to make the pass more expensive, it would have been more correct just increasing the price tag directly, without any trickery or manipulation involved.

It was fixed within 24 hours. They stated the issue was related to how transactions are handled when its in-game vs direct and how there is now a pack for the exact same price as the regular BP which is available once per season.

Yeah like the main point was to not have this one thing require direct payment while literally everything else used Paid Lunacy, but inflammatory reaction content be inflammatory reaction content.

The whole point was just to make refunds easier for us since everything will be done via paid Lunacy instead of this one random thing needing to go through an entirely different potential refund channel and they announced a 1300 Lunacy pack specifically for BP only players less than 24 hours later. But when youre trying to make reactive content instead of actually waiting for all the information i guess you just couldnt wait could you lmao. Not a great look

Yeah I agree with you that this is a common trick that is usually used to make more profit from the game. Because the more players know less about how much they spend, the more money that the company will get. I think that it's normal for gacha game that want to increase their sale. (But I don't agree with this method) And for Limbus, in my opinion, by using this type of trick will only worsen their sale. Why? Because in order to get more profit from the new BP, PM need more people to buy it to replace those who now can't. And how to get more playerbase? Advertiment I guess? But this gonna cost PM money anyway and it can't guarantee 100% that those newcomers will have money to buy their BPs in every season too. (Live-service games always need more newbloods/players to keep their game alive right?) But well.. PM can get away with this trick if the majority of players still willing to spend money on their products. If they listen and fix it before SS4 comes then good for them, but if they still insist on doing this then we must talk to them with the their own language, "money". (in short: if their ss4 sale is low then that time they will know what they're doing, I hope.) (and yeah I know that someone say it cheaper for them but I think not everyone will think like them.)

Please check PM's announcements. Issues with refunds and the like made them go through with this change, and they added a once per season pack that gives exactly 1300 lunacy for the exact same price as the previous battlepass. So now you can buy in bulk and save money after 2+ seasons, or just spend the exact same amount as before. Net positive change.
