she's not underrated at all, she's a great actress. it's just her look only landed her certain roles, it's why she did Black Snake Moan, it was her way of giving Hollywood the finger by not casting her in bigger roles. but there's no denying her talent, everything she is in she knocks it out of the park. now some might say if she's so great, why did Hollywood over look her. it's like i said, Christina Ricci is a great actress from a talent standpoint, but yall know how Hollywood can be. you can be good, and still get type cast into certain roles. well in Christina's case, she always looked young for her age, especially back then, but unfortunately Hollywood especially back then, girls like christina were often type cast. she has played in some big movies, but she was never the lead actress in most. so it's only with movies like this.

@@Kid_Charlemagne76 It sounds like you've had some difficult/awkward times with folks with bpd(?) I guess a difficult part of bpd is one of them having low trust in others and a need for control -because many folks with bpd come from having very difficult and invalidating experiences in their past. So, I can see how when a person with bpd feels the need to lie, or feel pressurised by a situation into lying, that it can then be a very intense situation. Which can be tough on the person with bpd and the person/people they're engaging with.

@@benedictjephcote6815 you can't control what happened in the past but you can still control how you treat others. A traumatic past isn't an excuse to be a pathological liar. I've been in Lizzies shoes. Watching this movie almost made me feel like i was watching myself. All i wanted was for someone to love me choose me but yet for some reason i kept pushing everybody away until they were done. Life was so difficult emotionally in my late teens and entire 20's. Being in my 30's now and also now being a mom has helped me learn to control how i behave now. Sometimes you can outgrow this.

He actually does break up with her later on in the scenes bc she started becoming too needy, hovering and blowing up his phone while he's at his mom's house, he told her that she couldn't tag along bc it was personal family issues and instead of respecting his space and wishes she instead takes a flight to him and shows up unexpectedly and started accusing him of cheating to finding out he's actually helping with taking care of his mentally unwell sister... And instead of supporting him, apologizing for falsely accusing him she instead turns around and tells him he "gets off" on his sister's disability. That was pretty much the deal breaker for Rafe and he broke up with her for good.

@@badgerbadger-badger-Poppy It can also destroy their chances of ever developing a "normal" functioning brain. Also, doctors need to stop sticking literal children on medication. If said patient does eventually end up needing some kind of temporary help, chemically, wait until their brain is done developing, rather than destroying their life & leaving them with barely any chance of maintenance without medication once they're sick of pills & doctors & pharmacies & withdrawals from missed doses (because doctors are sadistic pieces of shit.) Medication needs to STOP being the first route people take in any attempts to help those struggling with disorders. Start with the actual root cause; drugging everyone up is just a temporary bandaid, & makes their brain become lazy & stop producing shit it would have just produced on its own.

It's called depression and anxiety. If you can't love someone through it and help them out of the bad days, then you don't deserve the absolute deepest most passionate love you'll ever have.
