+Rediculous RED They wouldn't need to dance. Tiny, etherial, formless demon ghosts singing in mass as back-up for one of the most operatic villian songs ever? They could perch and float, following Rasputin like some ghostly mist, swaying with the rhythm.They could also shape themselves to form what he was singing about! And some of them are able to combine into bigger forms like when they took out the bridge. Those ones could handle the deep baritone parts. How metal could that set-up be!?

In the next moment he said something to me in Winnie-the-Pooh's voice. The man is an utter genius. Also he's extremely kind. ****Edited to add that Christopher Lloyd is indeed the very talented voice actor for Rasputin. Jim Cummings was the singing voice for this song only. The gunshots you hear twice in the song are much more creepy when you know the history 1:26 “My curse made each of the pay, but one little girl got away!” *BANG* This has 2 references The first is Rasputin’s supposed curse that Russia would soon face ruin. The second is to when the Soviets executed the Tsar’s family, Anastasia didn’t die immediately, as she has sewed Jewels into her dress so the soldiers didn’t take them, which slightly protected her from the original volley. 2:08 The second gun shot “I’ll see her crawl into place!” *BANG* is a reference to the story that when they went to move the bodies, Anastasia and her brother Alexi were crawling slightly so they shot them again.

Thats what makes a villain so great! Nowadays most villains in kids films (especially disney) are last minute reveals and because of that we never get the chance to see how menacing (and fun) they can be. If you had to choose between Love is an open door and Be Prepared which would you say is a better song song for a real villain.
@Catartist1543218 жыл бұрын
Kevin Murphy I was literally just going to say that. Even "Mother knows best" can't compare to "Hellfire." But nowadays people are too sensitive and want to make things less evil. I agree with the Nostalgia Critic: I always imagine Rasputin being backed-up by a legion of evil skeletons. I really don't know why they went with bugs when hell is apparently MADE of bones just waiting to come to life dance the can-can!

If Fox ever decides to do a remake of this movie (Animated, *not* live action), maybe they should do that. Make Rasputin's layer filled with living skeletons and ghosts instead of bugs. And maybe they could also come up with a more refined reason for Rasputin to go after Anastasia? Maybe it could be because his body will eventually die out if his curse to kill the entire Romanov family isn't fulfilled? I don't know.
@geekwithapen13983 жыл бұрын
@@shinyneko8136 that would actually be a very good addition! I've only seen the movie recently, and tho I like Rasputin as a character, I think his villain motives are a little weak. But I also don't want him to play too much bigger of a role, as the movie is more focused on Anya's self identity than opposing a villain

If i remember correctly it was written somewhere that animating large amounts of Skeletons was deemed too difficult and would be too scary for the younger audiences so they decided to tone it down with bugs instead.

This is my favourite princess movie by far. I love the history, I love that they found a storyline that doesn’t rely on the romance and the princess doesn’t need saving, I love the beautiful dresses and the flashbacks, dreams etc I just love the way it makes me FEEL Best of all I love the soundtrack. It is THE best soundtrack for a princess movie I’ve ever heard. Beautiful songs from the protagonist AND the antagonist.

When I first heard this song in the movie, I knew it sounded familiar. After some digging, I finally found out that it was produced by Jim Steinman, most famous for writing many songs for Meat Loaf and composing a bunch of other songs in the ‘70s and ‘80s, such as “A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste”, “Bat out of Hell”, “Good Girls Go to Heaven, Bad Girls go Everywhere”, and “Nowhere Fast”. The layered instruments, particularly the piano, electric guitar, and vocal harmonies are unmistakable.

I have a feeling that Bluth was told to lighten up the visuals, considering how frightening he can make sequences (like Charlie's vision of Hell in All Dogs go to Heaven or Land before Time), because the visuals to this song are just so bizarre. Bugs? Sure. But they're ridiculously cute and break the tone of the character and song completely. They're lavender and pink for goodness sake.

Do you know why the Romanoffs actually died? It was because the people of Russia were actually starving while the royal family and other elite were being well fed! During the wedding of Nicholas, normally they would make enough food for everyone. No, they only made food for themselves, and thousands of people died.
@karlthorsten9118 Жыл бұрын
Bolsheviks. Communists. Extremists who are also at the absolute end of their rope, angry, furious and pretty much rabid animals. When people are pushed beyond the brink, mercy stops existing. Rationality, any kind of sane reasoning, it just dies. Sometimes forever. They didn't want the royalty to ever return to power, let alone exist. And so the Romanov main family was completely exterminated. There are fairly close relatives alive today, there was a wedding with a Romanov a few years back, but the main family is extinct. Such absolute evil. It is sickening that people look up to such evil ideologies today. And frightening.
