Beautiful braid-it's so versatile and looks so different when different beads are used. Thanks, Pru, for sharing with us.

I love your tutorials. Thank you. Is it just for demonstration purposes, or do you always use two different thicknesses of cord? If it’s always, why? I did notice that your braiding and beads are always very straight (mine are not); so wondered if the different cords were the reason. Of course, it could just be you have more experience than me, since I just started last year. I have a lot of trouble with adding fasteners, too, so….

You can make some beautiful braids with 8 cords of all the same thickness, but if you want to make beaded braids it is best to use thin cord to carry the beads and then something thicker to give the braid a bit of structure. If it is all thin cords it will be very delicate but it takes a long time to make.
