What to do during winter and snow ,how to care for it?
@ninelinks3443 Жыл бұрын
For winter i would bring it indoor and put it near a window. Do not water too often in winter since it is not putting out new growth(dormant). Good time to prune off death branches in winter.

Mine bloomed in spring this year! Only a week.😏 Do I prune it again? Love this v!
@ninelinks34438 ай бұрын
You can, just make sure prune the branches that bloomed. Other branches might bloom soon too.

my soil is well draining but keeps water because of high humus content, will the night-blooming Jasmine like that? Dama De Noche is what it is locally called in the Philippines("Lady of the Night").. TY👋☘️
@ninelinks34433 жыл бұрын
Yeah the lady of night is also another name for this one. As long as the temperature and sunlight is good then water shouldn’t be a problem. It loves water, if sunlight and temperature are not optimal then cut back the watering.

Thank you for the pruning tips. May I ask does it like full sun?

Yes, this night blooming jasmine LOVES full sun. Just make sure water often.

Hi liked ur Chanel. How often do you repot or root prune to keep the size controlled please??
@ninelinks34433 жыл бұрын
For this one, I be doing root pruning next early spring. I typically don’t repot, branch pruning, or root pruning late in the season. Now, if I live in a tropical zone then I probably do it next month since it still blooming and going to wait till it finishes. Thanks for liking the channel.

Sooo my aunt gave me a plant like this, she said it's a dama de noche. It's really tall, and it grew quite weirdly, there's a huge thick branch near the soil that grew horizontally so idk if I should cut that one down or not...or could I just cut the whole thing down then wait until it grows better?
@ninelinks34432 жыл бұрын
There are many plants with night fragrant called dama de noche. If what you have is this then heavy pruning will be fine as it will regrow. However, without looking at a picture is hard to say. Cestrum Nocturnum grows fast and very forgetful on pruning. Feel free to send me picture of tour plant at whitechampacaAlba@gmail.com

I have two night blooming jasmine that I have had for about two years. I have never prune them and they are now about eight or 9 feet tall. I want to prune them and I have no idea what I’m doing. Is it OK to cut them now as short as the ones in the video?
@ninelinks34433 жыл бұрын
One thing so good about this jasmine is it has very strong recovery rate. Now if you going to do that make sure do it during active growing season like now. I think they be fine if you were to prune them right now.

@ninelinks34433 жыл бұрын
From my experience this plant requires full sun and temp around 71 F or above to bloom. It loves water. If you have all the condition above then try to give it some bloom fertilizer as bit of encouragement to bloom.

So we had a rare cold spell here in FL and my night jasmine turned yellow and lost all it's leaves. I thought it died but decided to totally cut it back (3" - 4") and see what would happen. It's now over 6 feet tall, blooms twice a year and seems very healthy. The bad part is it looks awful as I haven't pruned it in over a year and now is mostly made up of tall thin growth that I need to tie or prop up. If/when I finally prune it, how far would you recommend I cut it back - and when?
@ninelinks34433 жыл бұрын
That is really depends on how you want to style the plant. Cestrum Nocturnum is very forgiving when pruned and will come back even stronger(you probably noticed that in your case). I take it that your cestrum nocturnum is planted in ground outside. If you going to use the plant as privacy purpose then pruned to level where you comfortable with your neighbor. If not for privacy but just love the plant then I personally like the round dome style. As for when to prune: any time is fine but the best best is fall around october. Now do keep in mind pruning the plant will reduce flowers but it will still bloom.
@peterson88keyz3 жыл бұрын
@@ninelinks3443 I actually have it planted in a huge pot outside on the patio. It gets the full brunt of the FL heat and humidity but a lot of water and minimal sunlight, that seems to be a good combination. I guess hurting the blooms when I cut it back is really my main concern as the smell of a 6' Jasmine out there at night is amazing. But you are correct, it is VERY forgiving when pruning. I'll probably cut it back to the height of the one in the video and try to keep up with it this time - you practically can hear stuff grow down here in the summer. Thanks for the informative video and reply!

More branches mean more potential flower buds. More buds more blooms.
