[PS] Shin Megami Tensei If - Majin Tensei Easter Egg (DEJA VU)

If you like Megaten music, you probably know that "Karukozaka Senior High School Song" from Shin Megami Tensei Sound Collection has a hidden track, which is a remix of "DEJA VU" from Majin Tensei 2: Spiral Nemesis. But did you know that this song is actually in the PS version of SMT If? If you want to see this easter egg for yourself, you're required to have a Guardian of Deity/Majin race on your protag or your partner and enter Vine's boss room in World of Arrogance. The easiest way to do this is to level up Charlie's Guardian up to Krishna, as seen in this video.
"DEJA VU" is a song from Majin Tensei 2: Spiral Nemesis which was composed by Hidehito Aoki, who was most well-known for his works on Majin Tensei series and Persona. Unfortunately, he died in a car accident in 2002. This easter egg was most likely included as a tribute to him. R.I.P. based god. MAJIN FOREVER.

Kennichi Tsuchiya remixed this track for the great composer of Majin Tensei as a eulogy. Tsuchiya called Hidehito Aoki “the unsurpassed wall.”

@@jeremym9011 his maken x and smt3 osts were good, also latest persona was much more jazz and funk instead of jpop. i dislike what he did to psp rereleases of persona 1-2 though. Persona series always reflect contemporary to the time urban culture, and that includes fitting music.

It can be hard to compare old Atlus to new Atlus because they are so much different in terms of styles and composers. Old Atlus was much darker in it's experimental and industrial compositions. After that wave of composers the music turned to jazz and K-pop lol so I can understand why those who grew up with the dark origins of Atlus's music don't like the newer soundtracks.

@@rcv826 stylistically the music in the old and new games may be different, yet the creative spirit of the company's musicians remains alive. also most of the complaints seems to be about Persona music, but it seems like the musicians still love to have callbacks to SMT (ex. a few songs in Persona 5 (Royal))

Mngalahad I think if you have a modded PS2, it should work, but not entirely sure. I played it on an emulator.
