I played this game a lot during my childhood. The game had rookies with drivers' helmets of previous seasons. Therefore Juan Montoya for example had Jenson's helmet. Was such a disappointment for me being a massive JPM fan since F3000 days. I was super excited to have him in one of my first f1 games, cause till then I had only f1 1997 for N64 and f1 2000 for PSX, but unfortunately he hadn't his helmet :/ Agree with Hakkinen's performances. I still remember I usually did some 1:25 in Melbourne while opponents had a pace around 1:26-27, then he marked some 1:22. No sense at all.

Can I ask for something I've never understood? F1 97 was very successful, okay? I have had it. Obviously there were some minor graphics issues, but the developers paid more attention to gameplay and handling dynamics, especially with atmospheric conditions. So, the result was a game, not perfect, but wonderfull. An infinite longevity, I never got tired of playing. In 1998, f1 98 wasn't the same. F1 98 was utter crap. The developers changed everything: graphics engine, dynamics, etc ... and it was never understood why... and, quite rightly, it was a huge sales flop. Now, the question is: after f1 98 flop, why, in all subsequent versions (up to this 2001, I don't know about the others), the developers continued with this shitty graphics dynamic, instead of returning back to the f1 97 system?

Back in the day this game worked only on epsxe emulator don't know what is going on now but i know that pcsxr can't run this game. So no epsxe doesn't support pgxp so no pgxp in this video
