They may seem to have more personality, but they’re a massive pain in the backside, Due to the fact they can easily break. Not to mention, they are custom-made from Sony themselves so if you want to replace a broken game, you need to buy another game that is intact and swap out the guts. At least with the North American games all you need to do is get a load of new CD cases and switch them over. So easy. I’m actually quite jealous. Oh and the collection is pretty nice too.

Very nice, a really tight collection there mate, even with Chris Kamara! haha You've got plenty of titles I'm missing, games like Castlevania Chronicles and Parodius, I'd really like a non-platinum version of Road Rash as well but it's proving tricky to nail down.

I find those fat PSX cases interesting, quite different from our standard CD cases we have here in the states. I have the "Ridge Racer", "Soviet Strike" & "Road Rash" games, I need to wrap up my PS1 collection soon when I get my finances back up. I like the nice clean bookcases, I see you've got a great head start on your Blu-ray collection.

Liking the cabinets. Not a bad start. I'm aiming for a complete set, already have alot of the "big hitters" on the system. Just looking for some of the uncommon titles now( the likes of marvel v capcom and such). Lacking Tron Bonne too which has me slightly miffed due to the insane price tag :/

nice collection looks so clean and crisp but why is there no residnet evil 1-3, Silent hill, dino crisis, paracite eve 2,crashbandicoot games and CTR,sled storm, Tony hawks proskater 1 & 2, Doom, Final Doom, Alien resurection, quake 2, Hexen, final fantasy games,MediEvil 1&2, alone in the dark, clock tower1,2, Gta 1,2, spyro series and mortal kombat trilogy?

Thanks for the comment, as I said in the video the collection is primarily 2D games as I don't really believe the PS1's 3D has aged very well. Cheers.

A game to add to your collection that is quite rare is Vib Ribbon. It was Japan and Europe release only, but few NTSC copies where made, even less PAL, making the game rare. My dad got one for £5 from eBay for my birthday

I do like the uniformity of PS1 PAL games although at the same time I can clearly see how to some they look a little bland. If I were still in the UK i'd be picking PS1 games up like a lunatic but currently being so far away just means I grab the occasional one here and there...... got a few on my ebay watch list though so i'm sure i'll be splashing out on those bad boys soon!

hi nice collection, i supose you re English cuz there s a lot of pal format, (and your accent)=) it s a very impressive collection as i try to get one too but i find hard to buy game in good condition and my budget is tight, i had collection of ps1 pS2 before but i did not care about the boxes , and generally i get it on loose or even a burncd copy , but this time i would like a tidy collection ( probably not as neat as yours but with boxes and booklet, i find hard to get brand new game especially in europe i wish i could live in us or japan or have friend there to send it to me(most site don t accept to ship games in europe anyway i really Wonder if all those game of your are new how you manage to find a shop that sell it brand new

PS1 games get scratched so easily. Even stored in the cases the discs get grit/dust on them. It's difficult to hunt down mint discs now

The games that don’t have the PlayStation signature on the front are early PlayStation one games, released from the systems launch in November 1995 to I would say early - mid 1996. Future games that have the PlayStation logo on the front tend to be released from late 1996 to 2005.

Oh, I almost forgot, The holographic sticker was also introduced when they started putting the PlayStation logo on the front cover. interestingly enough, they never implemented this in America or Japan. It was a European exclusive thing. As for the reason why this collector did not have holographic stickers on some of his games, it’s because either the games were released before the PlayStation logo was at the front and therefore did not have the sticker or The games in question originally were released with a holographic sticker, but the case is either got lost or damaged and were replaced with third-party cases. You can actually tell which cases are third-party due to the fact, they do not say PlayStation on the top. Hope that clears that up.

I'm not a fan of the PS1 cases.... I tend to take the discs and manuals out and place them in DVD cases alongside my PS2 games. I then re-size the cover on the computer and print it out.

Yes, if you want lose a lot of money if you want to re-sale them. Do that. Orginal Cases is the only way to go. European Cases are also alot better and more unique then U.S. Ntsc Playstation Cases, they just normal jewel cases.
