GT4 is like GT3 just better and bigger. GT5 was a failure to me to buy. Stupid level-up and point system. Tires overheating way too fast playing with controller. 1.000 cars but 800 of them was ported from GT4 and only 200 of them were hi-def with interior cockpit. Shark cards like GTA5 because the devs know and decides intentionally you will never have enough ingame money to buy some cars ... Never played a GT again.

TOOMtheRaccoon have you tried gt3 and gt4 without the driving assists ? Seems like you haven't, else you wouldn't say that. The cars in gt4 spin tires up to 5 gear, understeer a lot more than they should, and don't slide properly.

12:00 Wrong model for comparison... The car you were driving in GT6 is a standard model from PS2, no interior and all. There's a premium one that has nice interior, speedometer and stuff. Do this more carefully next time lol

It's great to see that some things change: The improvement in graphics from 2 to 3 (and so on), the improved physics from 3 to 5, the improved audio accuracy (though GT is still somewhat lacking in that sense), the more realistic and accurate scenery and depiction/placement of trackside objects throughout the series, lighting and specular effects, accurate tire/grip sounds... also, didn't realize that starting with 5 you could manually activate signals and hazards, because I stopped playing at GT4. Pretty neat. Also, it's great to see that some things never change: Poor racing lines, missed or completely blown braking points, dive-bombing the driver in front of you, pushing the car far beyond the limit of what you would do in real life and praying you make it through a corner without getting acquainted with the outside wall, or the classic slamming your way through the competition to get to first because what's damage again? Console Andretti gonna Console Andretti, I guess. lol I did really enjoy this video, I just have to give you grief because I have yet to see one of these comparison videos where the driver treats the cars and tracks as though this is a simulator. But I'm just some random racing fanatic who grew up with Gran Turismo and stumbled across this video, and my opinion doesn't really matter. So, nice video! Thanks for the nostalgia!

@Seth Wellington GT5/GT6 had standard/premium and then simple/detailed cars respectively. In total GT6 had something like 1000 cars, but only a few hundred had the full detail, the rest were literally just reused Gran Turismo 4 cars. If you actually go into GT6 and compare the "simple" vs. "detailed" cars it's a night and day difference just like a PS2 vs. a PS3 game. GT Sport looks great, sure, but this did not do GT6 justice. Don't @ me again unless you actually are going to put a GT6 disc into a PS3 and see for yourself.

Gt Sport uses sprites on the leafs while the tree is 3D, just like The Las of Us and GTA5 do. This is the best technique imo.

GT5 had a pretty serious damage model while in development, but it was cut for the final game since some manufacturers didn't want their cars to get damaged. There are some pictures from beta versions of GT5 showing bumpers falling off and bent-up front ends.

man, i still play gt4 in ps2 . i have played and stopped like 3 times. at first, i tried to set cars to drift so I put those assist under and oversteering control; cars ran gamely. I didnot feel the dampers. second time, I still struck in drifting and making some cars special on drag on curving stages. made up stories like red wheel gang of route66 lol more like 8-10years ago. and i just start play ps2 again for TT tourist trophy!! it is a motorcycle game on the same platform of gt4. their lines in corner are different so i started to know the actual grip the real rides and in the game i modified weren't quit real. I start to turn off all assist and reduce spring rates. the cars start to corner like other computer cars and heat up tire slower than drifting setting. so I run longer and able to beat 200points on many stages. but some that really require top speed are too hard to follow. so 200points mostly are from cornoring stages. this time i able to drive safety on Nurburgring and get some good point from! haha such improve

Imho GT1 physic is easy to get oversteer when i turn sharply, especiall when i use RWD car. GT2 physic is easy to get understeer, although i turn it so hardly it won't turn smoothly

I got this in my recommendations and iam glad i got this. But i didn't watched the whole video because i don't want this to remind me GT4 because its the best GT game for me but one i wanted to play and it had the heartbreaking text" There is no saved game RETRY. CONTINUE" That literally ruined my memories from the game and the last time that i played GT4 when this showed up was... yesterday at the time. I even checked the the memory card and everything its there. Probably the CD has a problem. I may did not own my beloved Le man Mazda 787B but atleast i made a car that can reach and keep 400+ kph. Its a Mercedes Endurance races car and i think its in the Le man category (If it isn't when i fully tuned it even had more HP than the Chaparral 2J lol so I'm pretty sure I made it a Le man) and it's not the Sauber. Hope somebody will see my comment on this old video and answer me as well.

Damn... The last Grand Turismo game for me was 3. At that time I felt meh for these types of racers, and got into street racing games. More specifically, NFS Underground 2 & Midnight Club 3. Then I got back on Forza, and it did't gave me the same kick I wanted. Looking back now from the first 3, and now how sport looks... God I missed A LOT! Can't wait for the new one on PS5 now.

I do really like GT Sport since they added the career mode but I'm still butthurt over GT6 always randomly crashing on my PS3. I tried everything to fix that game too. Even tried different copies of the disc version and the psn version and deleting and reinstalling all of the patches that came out probably 20 times. There was some error in the code of that game that would just cause a Fat PS3 to randomly crash out. It wasn't overheating. Trust me I monitored CPU and GPU temps and I even changed the thermal paste and turned the fan up to max thinking that might have something to do with it. Turned out the temps were always nice and cool. It would sometimes do it in the menu right after starting the game. It was the only game that ever crashed my console. I even tried installing the game to different hard drives. I probably spent over 30 hours trying to fix this game. Never did solve the issue.

Kevin Simmerman gran turismo 6 could have been too powerful for fat ps3. same thing happened to me and my fat ps3. it kept crashing but once I got slim, it was fine and it never (if very very rarely) crashed

Graphics have Improved. Gt5 was better then 6. They used cheap AA on 6 and was blurry with awful shimmering. Gt1 was amazing and was unmatched. Played it on a 14inch tv that could play games from other countries in colour using a custom scart lead. Those were the days. GTSPORT is a more serious type of racing and has lost some of the fun of earlier versions. I do hope the Next Gt on Ps5 has weather, 24hour cycle, full damage. And bring back shuffle races like on gt5.
