PS1 is actually a masterpiece movie. I started the movie without reading the novel. Yes, first time it will go over your heads. Second time, you will start connecting with the characters. Third time, you will get deeply immersed in the movie and you crave to know what happens next. I finished reading the five volumes of the novel after it. PS1 helped me a lot to deeply connect with the characters in the novel.

Whatever but what's portrayed about pandyas in the movie is very untrue, contradicting to the original history. This novel didn't give a fair role to pandyas. They never plotted revenge using their women. That's a disgrace by the novel writter and this whole movie crew to the history.

It will be a magical experience to witness all songs in their historic glory in big screen. We won't have another experience like this. It' s years of experience & learning... Maniratnam completed shooting of both PS1 & PS2 within 180 days in 500 Crs budget. That too when it shot that was during Covid time with much restrictions. At this age, he has completed his dream project. Only Maniratnam can do it. Inspiration, my respect to him. The best thing that he kept as much as real not over dramatic, his characters don't have the super power to climb & jump through air bcz it's legendary story of a legendary writer Kalki who wrote this years of research in 1951 It took 5 or 6 years to complete Bahubali for Rajamouli. Even Rajamouli surprised when he heared this.

Wow this is such a well made film. I was not expecting to get so impressed by the trailer itself. I have not watched PS 1 yet but i will soon watch it and then definitlely go to the screening of PS 2. Bollywood can never make a movie in two volumes which is completely dedicated to our hindu history nd that to with so much love. We are blessed to have such a movie like Ponniyin Selvan made in india.

I have seen the movie and I recommend read PS novel before movie,if you can Because Director assumes that audience have read those books Otherwise you may have to watch movie 3-4 times for understanding the basic plot just like me
