The funny thing about having this game is that my dad originally got this game around 2006 as part of a Resident Evil trio pack for PS2 but he never opened or played this game or Code Veronica, he only played RE Outbreak. Almost 16 years later and I decided to buy RE4 digitally on PS4.

Same here, it's got a lot of action and an army in Spain. Whenever I watch a playthrough of this game on the PS2 and PS3, I know of some appropriate, epic, and relaxing music to add in. Some are from some video games titled "Grand Theft Auto (1997)", "WWF No Mercy (N64)", "Metal Gear Solid Integral", "Shadow the Hedgehog", "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots", "Sonic Adventure DX", "Sonic Adventure 2 Battle", "Sonic Heroes", "Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)", "Sonic and the Secret Rings", "Metal Gear Rising Revengeance", "Mother/Earthbound" only arranged and vocal, one from the 2016 movie, "The Secret Life of Pets", "Sonic X (Japanese ver.)", "Dragonball Z Kai", one from 'Final Fantasy VII Advent Children', and one from the 2012 movie, "The Amazing Spider-Man." For example, whenever the cutscene with Leon in combat with Krauser arrives, I use the "One Winged Angel" music from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. And you know the most song that's epic when Leon enters the warzone? It's from Sonic and the Secret Rings titled "Blue on the Run." And when Leon faces the final boss, Lord Saddler, the commander/master of the "Los Illuminodos" (Spanish for "The Enlightened Ones"), the most epic song I use is from Shadow the Hedgehog titled "I Am All of Me" (Devil Doom Ver.). And when the credits role, I use some music from some music videos. And you know what else? I've also heard that this game was out on PS4 and Xbox One. Whenever I watch a playthrough of it on those consoles, I've decided to change the music up a bit. I still use the same game music, but I use different kind of music from some other games. One from "Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes", two from "Super Smash Bros. Brawl", one from "Sonic Unleashed", two from "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions", one from "Pikmin 1", one from 'Dragon Ball Z Budokai 1', one from 'Dragon Ball Z Kakarot', one from 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003), one from 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus', and one from "Ocarina of Time." Again, when Leon encounters Krauser, I use the "Malicious Wings" music from Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, but only for the PS4 version. On the Xbox One version, I use the 'Fight to the Death (Goku vs. Frieza)' music from Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. And when Leon is attacked by Saddler and Ada keeps the commander distracted so he can free Ashley, the president's daughter, from the capsule, I use the "Unfriendly Skies" music from the same game, but again, on the PS4 version. For the Xbox One version, I put in the Shredder battle theme from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus. And then I use the "Dark Mode" (AKA Chaos Blast) music from Shadow the Hedgehog when Leon uses the Special Rocket Launcher (with the red rocket) to dispose of Saddler once and for all. And finally, after the escape when Ashley falls off the jetski and into the ocean, I use the "Prologue" music from "Pikmin 1." Pretty epic, right?

Yeah, I don't think Capcom knew much about the dialect. They are and were a Japanese company so Shinji Mikami and the other devs probably didn't know any better. A lot of people can't tell the difference between dialects of Spanish, usually non Spanish speakers. But the game is still great.

@@iidragonflyiiAnimations no people overreact but the sound effects do sound cheaper and I don’t entirely blame the PS2 honestly the port was rushed and the ps2 is the hardest to develop with very complicated console to bring it to its full potential but it’s good version with better FPS even at times but cheaper sound effects and a little bit worse textures

@@iidragonflyiiAnimations the lightening effect in church is irreplaceble . The moon lightening and contrast ratio on a CRT . You have no idea it looked 1000% better than the now a days versions. The contrast rario of a CRT was 2 milliom to 1 As compared to 50'000 to 1 of a modern standard LCD. The PS2 along with the CRT tv gave this game ita true respect.. Just buy A sony old CRT tv and old fat ps2 and play it . You jaw will drop . The moin l8ghtening effecta the grass will even reaflect the moon light .

How about now in 2021? I know one thing not to do, and that's NOT to shoot the merchant without reloading your game. Or you will be playing the game without a merchant. I just had to kill him once just to see if it would work, it did. The one place I found I could not kill the merchant, is in the shooting gallery area.

wtf!?? I just finished this game yesterday(My first time playing it too). You can see the heart put into this game by the Capcom Team. Even though the plot is kinda silly and the dialogue is cheesy, the game as a whole is entertaining and enjoyable. No wonder it's considered a classic and the last "good" and true RE game before the others follow ups.

I have not beaten this game in professional mode yet to get the P.R.L. 412 gun which shoots electric bursts. I have infinite ammo for the main weapons and the hand cannon. I like this game! Special costume 2 is the best! Infinite rocket launcher and tommy gun are awesome!

I play this game on the ps2 before! back when I was young and even when I would remember how awesome games were in the early 2000s. But this game was a bit too hard for me though from the times I first play it when I was young, but since from the ps4 I have finally beat this Resident Evil game and I am now playing it on the pc now! :D which I got to say this Resident Evil game is really good to play! :D

I played 2 and 3 on their release. Playing the very first one right now. I'm not a fan of shooters, so I never bought this back in the day, I prefer jump scares, creepy corridors and puzzles. Should I play this game?

Yes. It has a fair bit of puzzles. The graphics are somewhat aged, so the game isn't that scary anymore but it still has a few creepy moments. It's mostly action based rather than horror

Every other encounter it does something to break your own parameters or rules. Like the knife not having any effect on anybody they walk right through it, or the hand gun shooting them in the head when they’re not wearing a helmet and it has no affect. Appearing in a sealed room right next to you and stabbing you out of nowhere. That little treat happened to me at least seven times already. In all instances there was one door and nothing came through it and there was no other way in the room and it was an empty room up to a second ago when the enemy just appeared. I tell Ashley to follow me and she stands there and gets killed by something because she’s not behind me like she supposed to be. That’s happened more times than I can count.He has convulsions when he’s trying to aim a weapon of any sort. The target sways from side to side up and down most of the time is much as 5 inches.This version of the game is a monumental failure of epic proportion’s.

Pretty sure all the cutscenes from the GameCube version all the way to the PC 2007 versions were pre rendered FMVs, then the re-releases from ps3/360 onward the cutscenes were done in real-time
