Thoroughly proud to present the video premiere from the PS22 Chorus of 2011, putting a new spin on the John Lennon classic, "Imagine." I don't think any of my choruses in all the years previous has put forth a more solid debut in such a short amount of time! Harmonies are tight, the feeling is there, and this group is ready to rawwwwk!! This was filmed today at only the 2nd rehearsal with the full group. Azaria delights with her unique instrument and pitch-perfect delivery on the solo, and Mr. Eberle adds that extra magic touch guesting on the acoustic guitar. So it's safe to say, 2011's IN DA HOUSE -- and it's bound to be quite a year!

They need to take Mr. B's talent of teaching kids and bottle it. He captures the attention of his students with music, teaching each and every one of them they all have a talent and can achieve anything they want if they go for it. For NYC's Mayor Bloomberg, I hope their story and their appearance at the Academy Awards taught a lesson on how important music is in public schools.

@suzhudson - I know. They are all great (_: I just want to hear more from Tirzah. I did something similar with my kids the one year I taught but I did lip sync videos (Wesley College Lip Singers) and I also posted them. The kids loved doing it. I plan to return and do a project with them before the year is up. Love what PS22 chorus is doing!!!!! I want to encourage the schools here to try this because the kids obviously love it.

@drmayeda1 I am aware that they didn't have their shirts ordered! perhaps you are right-the temporary student purchase was the light blue shirts-- however I see in SEVERAL videos-where they all have light blue collared shirts on-including under their t-shirts. I wonder if there are some days where they are required to wear that?

I'm just an average singer (not bad, not great either). But when I sing at home to myself, I feel so FREE, so GOOD. Singing is a powerful thing. It can't be put into "words". It's just a beautiful thing for the soul.
