@funnyman83 there are many FF's besides the numbered ones. Crystal Chronicles, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, Dissidia, Tactics and so on. Despite being called "Final Fantasy", they aren't necessarily 100% RPG. Its the theme that makes the game called "Final Fantasy".

Looking forward to this game so much! It looks like a movie cinematically and the difference between gameplay and cinematic is mostly seen in camera angles, not lessened graphics. You also start to understand who Noctis is in this video too : )

I'm very impressed - a lot of people think this will come to the Xbox 360, despite the fact it looks like an exclusive right now. I think it looks beautiful - but my biggest concern is that, despite how seamless the battles are, it still looks just as linear as XIII was, and that ticked a lot of people off.

This is an action RPG and not the classic turn based, thats why its call FF "Versus" XIII, Nomura said that years ago. Gameplay looks great and the cut-scenes are the greatest out of any game i have ever seen . . . . PERIOD

IX, X, and XII all had their good parts. Personally, I liked X for it's interesting design and story, IX for its old folk-tale feeling and drama, and XII for its gameplay and depth. I'm definitely stoked for this game, because the combat and open exploration look enjoyable and the setting mixes elements that a lot of games usually don't, and I lived in Tokyo for a year, so I have an idea of what the city environment could be like.

@felixvc just like many people say, it's a love story, just like all final fantasy's have been since 6. what goes on is that pretty much squall falls in love with rinoa and rinoa ends up being a sorceress (which is found out later in the game). several different things go on as their love progresses such as finding out that squall's dad is laguna, blah blah blah, different sorceress wants to take over the world, rinoa has her body taken over, everyone wants to save the world, saves world, WIN.

Keep in mind people that the gameplay in this trailer is a demo that possibly takes place near the beginning of the game where Noctis only has the basic stuff. That trailer with him attacking w/ 13 weapons, teleporting everywhere and jumping on and off tall buildings was nothing but a representation of what he COULD do. He's not going to be like that when you start the game. However, he CAN do EVERYTHING you saw him do in the teasers IF you have the will to do it.

@Charliem1994 It had to have 4 discs because the 360 uses DL Dvds and the PS3 uses Blue Ray discs. DL DVD = 8.7 gb Blue Ray = 25 GB (dual layer blue ray - 50gb). The video sequences and audio were compressed for the 360 version, nothing else was different.

@HypnoticCyclone The gameplay footage shown in the 1st Square-Enix Production Department Premiere are not from final builds of the game. Top of the fact that they "slowed down the gameplay"Because noctis is so fast you won't be able to hardly see him and the parts they showed were at being at the beginning of the game,with a low level noctis and his lackluster low level abilities. Like that small fire attack(Laughs) Just need to see a high level noctis at work.

I think it's going to be like a "mature Kingdom Hearts." I'm excited, but worried, as Nomura's recent work hasn't been too hot. Hopefully with a return to consoles things should shape up again.

This lives up to all my expectations and more! I can't wait! The HUD isn't too big, the battles are fast paced and Noctis can teleport. Finally it isn't on 360 haha Good!

@ChannelWithoutName It's set in the Final Fantasy XIII universe and is tied to the FFXIII story in some way, which is why it's under the Fabula Nova Crystallis monkier along with FFXIII.

@AngelWingDuelist FFXIII did set a new trend in the visuals for the Final Fantasy series. Hence why Versus XIII looks how good it does now. FF is ever progressing forward in graphical excellence.

@RayneCro the hole point of 13 is so much more than just the game. the game engine fir example, is used for versus 13 as well (look at the recycled numbers icons and fire magic effects) it was much more praised over here in asia btw, where people actually do like the new change to the system

@franzken they were saying the same thing on Final Fantasy XIII being a PS3 exclusive at first. I personally hope it stays exclusive to the PS3 so that they don't have to deal with the hindrances that would come with trying to make it multiplat, though, I'd understand from a financial standpoint if they decided to make it multiplat (which they more than likely will anyway).

For my two cents, I actually like the direction this is taking. The ability to pilot machines and use fire arms (although the 3ps does look a little iffy) would add new strategy to the gameplay. Also, a slower attack speed could possibly lead to more planning ahead of time to avoid getting hit. Of course I could be wrong, and the slowness could drive me insane, but I'm keeping my hopes up.

@MirageStarlight Nomura and his development team ARE incorporating the battle system you see in this trailer into the actual game. See how they are fighting the behemoth and the soldiers? That is how they aim to make the gameplay. This game has already been in development for several years, because it is no easy task.

@HypnoticCyclone This is more than likely, like most any game demo's very early into the game. KH combat is known to pickup speed as you go along, which is what I suspect from this game. The combat shown intrigues me very much, looks awesome.

Thank you! This is what we know Square Enix is capable off! I hope it wasn't just me, but this feels like our "Final Fantasy" not the horrible excuse for games that they've been giving us. This my friends is what they have the ability to do. I may be wrong, but this feels like a game that was actually developed with care. Hopefully, just hopefully, this will be worthy of the title "Final Fantasy" that was once treasured.

@LilSilveritis Noctis is said to be a very shy person, but he initially tries to hide it by "acting cool". According to director Tetsuya Nomura, Noctis will not have a "Cloud-like" personality like people are currently expecting. Instead, he will be a type of character that has not yet been seen in the series, one which Nomura has wanted to try out for a long time. Nomura says that Noctis will have a strong and distinctive personality, and will absolutely not be a "silent, gloomy little boy."

@xSeiZmikx Thats wrong. It would have to be on 6 discs because the 360 uses Dual Layer DVDs which only hold approx 8.7 GB of Data. The PS3 uses Blue Ray Discs which hold 25gb. The only difference (which shouldn't be very noticeable or noticeable at all to >most< people) is the audio quality and video quality during video-sequences (ie: not real-time cutscenes.) FFXIII actually uses a DL (50 GB) Blue-Ray disc because of this . The 360 is more than powerful enough to handle the game.

Holy Shit, the CGI looks even better than that of Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. It looks incredible. Tetsuya Nomura definitely put his heart and soul into the making of this game. I hope its the Masterpiece I've been hoping it to be.

@AznPandaFTW kH3 will prolly keep to a more hand drawn animation look to keep the style from the first games intact but yes the animation will be smoother im guessing
