do you know that max voltage the ps4 3pin will take? my fan died so I looked into a few fans and wanted to do a fan mod as well funny thing is it's a cool master as well hits 2000rpm it's also 3pin so would it be able to connect to the old fan spot? if not would it be too powerful for USB?

how did you get the wiring all done? did you solder the 3 pin fan wires to a USB cord? or are those just USB fans? if you wouldn't mind could you give me the link to those fans. also, are the fans taking in air or forcing it out? i live on Oahu and it gets really humid over here because i live near the city, not in the back of a cool valley thats why im asking all these questions.

AznJungleFever just peel the cables of a regular usb and use the black ground cable as a negative and the red 5v cable as the positive, good luck with your hand! ;)

so i decided to do the same fan mod as you.... was a success but now my controller lacks range.... i have to be less than a meter away from console for it to get signal. then it disconnects on its own. getting frustrating. maybe the fans are interfering with the signal?

I got the Dobe ps4 exhaust cooler which straps onto the back of the ps4, the cutout for the stock heatsink and also a fan accelerator for the stock heatsink, and to finish it off, I got the ps4 USB hub containing 5 extra USB slots including one USB 3.0. I plan on putting two jet-black 120mm fans on the front, powered via the ps4 power supply. However I haven't decided wether the front fans should be intake or exhaust. What do you think?

Hey man, great mod, I love it a lot and want to do it form ps4. Cause mine goes like 77db after clean up and thermo paste change ;/ I wonder can I put a some sort fan controller between the fans and USB's power? I want to use one from a pc case, but as I figure the connector of controller is a 4pin mollex..any Ideas how I could power a 4 pin molex externally ? like with a usb?

Cooler master. They should have options for different RPM. Get the lowest RPM. Just so so it's a solid bit above passing heating

Cooler Master ( lowest RPM you can find. A good low speed fan makes it no longer being passively cooled and loves it. Maim CUP RAM MoSFET all of it will outlast every one else's with good cooling. REMEMBER " HEAT KILLS ELECTRONICS ) plain and simple. Learned from a old friend that that ran a computer hospital in my teens through till he did. Custom is my specialty and specifically air cooling because of relia ility factor for a long shelf life. Water is hard to maintain and accident prone even in a perfect system.. Time plus head and aging materials... always wins over eventually or lots of maintenance 1-2x a year replacement water cooling tubs and seals. If you have the time water cooling g it if your really putting time I n weekly and it's. Americus hobby. Then build a custom CPU and RAM and FSB water pucks and dream rig with custom water blocks for chips.

+Jack Gardner i used a emlpoxy glue, good super glue would work. you could pre drill slightly smaller holes that the screw that comes with the fams when u buy them and screw them in. you only want a 16th or an 8th inch smaller pre drilled hole

+Bluefire8080 Thanks for the advice. I'm sick and of the constant ramping up on mine. I completely disassembled mine and replaced the crap thermal grease with Arctic Silver. I'm still going to do your fan mod because the airflow through the ps4 is crap. I build my own comps like you, so I know which end of a screwdriver/Dremel to hold. PS: Hope your hand has fully healed. Although, in Hawaii, all you need is your thumb and pinky.PSS: Kauai is my favorite island. I'm so jealous.
