Love your work man you're a life saver. I just did this to my sons PS4 Pro after opening it to clean the fan and heatsink from dust and debris and removing the cable from those sockets the first time is very hard and I knew to be careful but I still ripped one side up! Now to follow your video and fix it! Thank you!

just last week i had to fix my ps4 pro. don't know why but on all ps4 pros that one power connector is the weakest part on the board had to take similar steps to what you did. To fix mine it feels great when you can fix something on your own. but as always if your not comfortable fixing something yourself just bring it to a professional but if its a trade you want to get into practice on scrap devices before you try to actually fix your own device. it's how i learned to do soldering and board repairs though i only fix my own things

Bro i wish i had your skills. I accidentally ripped off the same connector while disassembling a PS4 first gen for repasting. I blindly followed a tutorial on youtube but it didn't go so well. The damn thing tore off rather easily with very little force. That's how brittle the original solder was. I'm so livid rn. 🤬😂

I think this is the second power connector on a PS4(pro) and it most likely happens when people hearing their fans spin up high in games and think they need to clean out the PS4 and put new thermal paste on the CPU. Why the pads get ripped off (or the connector) is because inexperienced people yank as hard as possible and instead of the cable they use a tool and rip the connector off the board.... Why do I know this you ask... Because I repaired 5 of them in the past month, and when I ask them why it was opened the answer is always that the fan was loud and they thought the system was overheating. I saw how you repaired them in an earlier video and have since added that to my repair kit as well.

Can confirm... (the place I sent my ps4 pro into said they couldn't fix it and wanted 40$ for it back) (still broken)

Ripped power connector in PS4 is a common problem. It is very simple to rip off because it is knowledge required to disconnect the cable
@HoRnEyDvL3 жыл бұрын
Why not use epoxy to glue down the connector like jb weld etc? Just curious
@popcorny0073 жыл бұрын
Probably because hot glue is more convenient, it is strong enough, and it hardens way faster than epoxy. Also hot glue is cleaner because it leaves no residue. It doesn't require a chemical reaction like epoxy/superglue, just a physical joint.
@TomaszStachewicz3 жыл бұрын
@@popcorny007 what you said. also hot glue is easy to remove and clean (compared to chemically bonding glues) in case a next repair is needed.

Do you have any pics of the back of the board Someone did a terrible repair on mine and I just get a blue light now. Checked the pins and they are fixed now after I removed all the glue and wires. I think the repair was attempted from the back so may have lost some resistor near the plug. Would a bad connector show no life at all or blue light ?

Hi, enjoying you vidoes after finding your channel and leaning lots. Have a strange laptop problem if you ever experienced or know of a case. Have a old 2011 HP laptop a 4530s and every attempt to install windows by usb or dvd starts to load but then fails and either kicks back to bios screen or shut computer down completely?? Already swapped memory and slots and HD is known good. laptop always turns on and goes to bios although i cant seem to find bios flash screen eventhough there is a option to flash bios in menu. Cleaned memory slots and used other known same memory from other machine same specs. I thinking bad bios or controller or memory controller nth/sth bridge? or power through MB is weak somewhere (bucks) caps ect and cutting out under load when windows installs? Thats all i can think of. Reset bios to defaults and tied uefi as well than legacy but nothing. So you can see the windows files load at bottom of screen then the win 7 or 10 logo appears (tried both) , then the screen and HD freezes OR laptop shuts downs or goes back to bios. i also has a BSOD code 174 too and power stayed on that time. so something major wrong i guessing or conflicts somewhere? thanks for any help Tim from Australia
