@@mayday-tz4dv there is a little more trial and error involved with this crash game compared to any other crash game that's been released. This one also requires more multi tasking during platform puzzles with the new masks compared to previous crash entries. Crash 3 and the wrath of cortex had power ups, however they were tied to buttons and actions players are already familiarised with from the start of the game and the first few levels they need to beat to start earning the power ups like the spin glide. I enjoy the platforming difficulty, however some of the box locations are pretty cheap - after all you found this video as well. The only box I missed in this game was at 6:37, and I saved this level for last because I refused to look it up when I originally kept missing it.

A good “hidden” box at least gives the perceptive player some hint that something’s a little off. (Crash 2 had some really sneaky ones with “dud” Nitro crates you were supposed to stand on). That one near the TNT at the end ... I have no clue why I ever would’ve looked there.

I agree. I really didn't want to look up the solution to this but on balance (no pun intended) I'm glad I did. You could spend a year searching for that crate every day and still not hit it. Totally unreasonable. This sucks as the crates have been, while undoubtedly awkward, reasonable up until this point. Some of the solutions so far e.g the red gem have been pure genius. Why this now??? I hope this is just a blip in an otherwise excellent game, but this is just completely unreasonable imho. The hidden gem in this level also isn't great....just fall down a random hole for a whole new path........don't want to be negative about this game as I love it to bits, but this is unfair imho.

I had no issue with the tnt you just have to look for it and you can clearly see it on screen before jumping on the platform so it’s just a matter of seeing it in advance

They should tell you how many boxes per checkpoint. It’s annoying doing a section over n over to see you still missed a box. Crash 1-3 levels weren’t this long and none had 400 boxes in a stage.

This is how video games used to be in the 90s and early 2000s, full of hidden things and Easter eggs. Sadly companies know they will make more money off of games that will please sub par gamers, so modern games are all a walk in the park

@@harkriz415 I’ve been playing games all my life. There’s a difference between secrets and bad design. Same with difficulty. You can have a well designed game that is difficult. And you can have poorly designed games which are difficult. The secrets in Crash 4 is just bad game design. It has nothing to do with difficulty.

Maybe those games were designed poorly as well but I personally like games like that. Its funny even in Tony Hawk pro skater (3 I think) there was an Easter egg discovered within the last year

Not really. It's about trial and error. You won't complete this unless u played several times and memorise the placements for the most part. If u are not willing to do that, then that's fine. The play style isn't for u man

this is the level that made me give up the game, crash games shouldnt be this hard. Even with me timing the jumps and what not i still couldnt do it. Dissapointing it had to be like this and not a breeze of a game like the originals. Glad to see what this level looks like in full :)

Maybe you exploded some Nitros with an enemy, if you don't at the end of the level there's the detonator anyway. That would explain it.

Most of the level is meant to be done quickly (time relics) whereas bonus stages are not. Therefore they are allowed to put more complex puzzles in the bonus stages or flashback tapes. This levels bonus is pretty easy though honestly

Fuck that box near the TNT near the curved wall run. The Devs made the game difficult with cheap tricks like that. I had 3 perfect runs but missed that damn box and there was no way for me to look on that side of the screen. I even double jumped off the TNT after it initiated it's timer. The other hidden boxes in this game I found, it was just this one level that for the life of me couldn't 100%

The worst level to get the n sanely perfect relic in BY FAR. It took me about 3 hours to do this bs. They really dropped the ball with these boxes imo. Some of these would be almost impossible to find without cheating. Very disappointing they make it so cheap. Thanks again for your video. it could occure when you blow up too many boxes with nitro, tnt or by spinning enemies towards them in these cases the wumpas go away and you can't collect them :(

Bear in mind that 80% gem is for Wumpa fruit! Spin more boxes, use the bounce crates until they are empty and get all of the fruit on the bonus dyage, that's a huge contribution.
